A Los Angeles rapper was sentenced to at least half a cen- tury behind bars Monday after he was convicted at trial of nu- merous rapes.
Kaalan Walker, 27, was convicted in April of three counts of forcible rape, two counts of statutory rape and two counts of rape by intoxication, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney's office. Walker was arrested in 2018 on the charges and was released on bail, but he was ordered held after sentencing, according to City News Service.
The rapper's victims, who were models, alleged that Walker reached out to them over social media offering to help them professionally, police said.
Walker would lure his vic- tims to locations by telling them there was a music video shoot or

that he was going to introduce them to someone famous, City News Service reported.
When he was alone with the women, he sexually assaulted them, his victims told police.
The rapper, who went by the stage name KR, released an EP in 2017 and played a gang mem- ber in the 2018 movie "Super- fly." He also appeared in the 2017 movie "Kings," which starred Daniel Craig and Halle Berry.
TNT's Inside the NBA team will remain intact after all four television personalities agreed to new long-term contacts with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports, the company announced Mon- day in a press release.
Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal each agreed to new deals, keeping together the group that has won 17 Sports Emmy Awards.
The announcement comes
ahead of Tuesday's opening night of the 2022-23 NBA sea- son.
"We're all a big family – Ernie, Kenny and Shaquille are brothers to me – and I wouldn't still be here if it wasn’t for them and all the amazing people who work on our show," Barkley said in a statement. "I’m not gonna lie, though, this is a life-altering deal...and I'm blessed to be able to do live tele- vision for a living."
The Detroit Pistons have waived veteran guard Kemba Walker, the team an- nounced Mon- day.
The two sides
initially agreed
to a buyout in June, after the Pis- tons acquired Walker in a salary dump deal with the New York Knicks that also brought 13th overall draft pick Jalen Duren to the Pistons. Walker revealed in an interview with the Boston Globe in early October, he hasn't received interest from other NBA teams. It lessened the incentive for him to leave money on the table in a buyout, so the Pistons will instead eat his entire $9.2 million salary and Walker will be free to sign with another team.
