Homeowner’s Son Fatally Shoots Burglar
Woman Charged With Murdering Her Boyfriend
On Monday, March 14th, Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives filed an affidavit against Star Tribble, 35, charging her with first-degree murder, attempted tampering with evidence, tampering with evidence, and tampering with a witness in a capital felony in- vestigation. These charges were part of the ongoing in- vestigation into the death of Tribble’s live-in boyfriend, Tomorreio Clark, 33.
On February 23, 2016, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office homicide unit was investigat- ing the murder of Clark, and
arrested Tribble, initially charging her with being an ac- cessory after the fact of capital felony and giving a false state- ment in a capital felony inves- tigation.
Clark was found by Trib- ble’s adult daughter dead in his home on February 22nd. The death was immediately ruled as being suspicious. The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy, and ruled the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head.
Tribble is being held with- out bond on the charges.
Four Teenagers Charged With Vehicle Burglary
Winter Haven Police have arrested four teenagers and charged them with vehicle bur- glary and resisting officers after they were captured just after 4 a. m. Tuesday.
On March 15th at 3:45 a.m. a call was received hat a resi- dent in the Imperial Apartment Complex, 333 Lake Howard Drive, Northwest, saw four teens inside of vehicles in the parking area.
Police, along with a Polk County Sheriff’s Office K-9 deputy, responded and found 16-year-old Anquan Butler, but he immediately resisted ar- rest, police said. After several verbal attempts to comply,
Butler was arrested when the K-9 deputy intervened.
Tony Lee, 17, was with Butler and was arrested at the same time.
The K-9 continued to track to locate the other two, who were also found. Jase Govia, 16, and Dominique Cobb, 17, were both arrested with use of the K-9 deputy.
Police said Govia and But- ler were on probation with a curfew that prohibited them from being out after 7 p. m. They were subsequently charged with violating their probation.
All four teenagers were charged with auto burglary.
Tampa Police reported that at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Christopher Solomon, 40, heard what he said sounded like someone forcing their way into the back door of the home where he lives with his mother, 2110 North Central Avenue in Tampa Heights.
According to police, Solomon armed himself and went downstairs where he found a stranger in the kitchen area of the house.
Solomon reportedly told police he was in fear for his life and fired several shots at the intruder. The intruder died at the scene.
Solomon has not been ar- rested or charged in the shoot- ing, and the case has been sent to the State Attorney’s Office

had not been released at press time. The intruder has been identified as Lanny Ray Marler, II, 37.

Solomon’s mother, Eleanor Solomon, 68, is re- portedly usually alone in the home. She is a retired music teacher from Gorrie Elemen- tary School.

Teens Arrested After Stolen Car Flees, Crashes Into House
Early Thursday morning, Tampa Police officers investi- gating a possible domestic dis- turbance at a South Tampa home fatally shot a man after he reportedly fired at officers.
At 1:10 a.m., police received a call about a domestic distur- bance at 3312 Cherokee Av- enue. Officers arrived minutes later and spoke with the man, later identified as Sunny Chin, 53, who they said was uncooperative and armed with a firearm that he pointed at them.
More officers were called out to the home, and for 45 min- utes, police used a public ad- dress system to talk to Chin.
Officers said Chin made comments that they would have to come and get him. He then came out of the house onto the carport with a gun tucked into a towel around his waist.
Officers approached Chin with a shield, telling him to keep his hands visible and not to fire, police said.
At 2:53 a. m., Chin report- edly reached for the gun and fired a shot at the officers that hit near the center of the shield, police said. Officers returned fire and killed Chin in the car- port area.
A woman who was in the house had scrapes and bruises, but no serious injuries, accord- ing to police, and she is cooper- ating with investigators.

Early Thursday, Tampa Po- lice arrested two teenss after a stolen car they occupied crashed into a house in Sul- phur Springs.
Officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that fled, po- lice said. After less than a city block, the driver crashed through a fence and a house at
8607 North Mulberry Street. Officers reportedly did not engage in a pursuit, and no one was injured in the incident. The car had previously been reported stolen to the Hillsbor-
ough County Sheriff’s Office. The duo was identified as Damian Beard, 17, and
Mikell Beasley, 16.
