Tampa Family Health Centers Names Medical Director
Tampa Family Health Centers announced it has named Faisel Syed, M.D., to the position of medical di- rector, effective February 5, 2016. Dr. Syed is board cer- tified and earned his doctor of medicine degree at Iberoamerican University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He most recently served as a family medicine physi- cian at TFHC’s North Dale Mabry location since 2014. He is passionate about com- munity health and often ac- companies TFHC’s mobile screening units to serve med- ically underserved and home- less residents.
Dr. Syed completed his residency at Columbus Re- gional Medical Center in Columbus, GA. He holds

membership with the Ameri- can Academy of Family Physicians and has obtained other certifications that demonstrate his breadth of knowledge in his field. He is multilingual with skills in Spanish and Urdu/Hindi to complement his patient care.
Physician To Speak At Monthly Health Forum

On Friday, January 29th, organizers of the Men’s Health Forum will host their monthly forum. The event will take place at 11 a.m., at the College Hill Church Of God In Christ, 6414 N. 30th Street. Superintendent Charles Davis is the Senior Pastor.
This month, the guest speaker is Dr. Faith Felder, a board certified internist and pri- mary care physician. Dr. Felder has prac- ticed medicine in the Tampa Bay Area for the past 17 years. She is currently in private prac- tice.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Felder communicates through her website, Dr.FaithFelder.com, and holds monthly tele- conferences on her Healthy 100 hotline. She also utilizes social media and radio to promote healthy living. She believes that people should be provided the correct information need to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Her goal is to inspire others to live healthy lives and to become their own healthcare ad- vocates.
In addition to promoting healthy living, she serves as an example of it. Dr. Felder is an avid runner and primarily a vegetarian. She does add fish to her diet, in keeping with her Caribbean roots.
She completed her medical training at the University of Alabama, in Birmingham in

1994. Three years later, she completed her res- idency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, in Birmingham, Alabama as well.
