Water Dept. Employees Participate In Coastal Cleanup Day
The Tampa Water De- partment rolled up their sleeves and took part in Coastal Cleanup Day on Sat- urday, September 17.
The international effort brings together volunteers from more than 150 coun- tries to clean up trash litter- ing our beaches and waterways. Groups on a local level recruited volun- teers to make a difference in their community.
The Water Department worked with Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful as part of the organization’s cleanup event. Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful called on Bay Area residents to come together and clear trash across the Tampa and Hillsborough County. In the end, volunteers pledged to clean up dozens of locations including Al Lopez Park, Ben T. Davis Beach and River Tower Waterfront Park.
The City of Tampa is committed to keeping our community trash-free. It launched anti-litter cam- paign “Keep It Clean, Tampa,” which motivates residents to fight against trash and litter. The City is also investing time and re-
