Million Man March Considered A Huge Success

Members of the community are invited to attend a webcast from Chicago pertaining to the Million Man March. The event took place last week on the 20th Anniversary of the first Million Man March.
This will be Part II of the webcast and it will take place at the Mohammed Mosque, 905 E. Skagway Avenue. It will begin at 11 a.m.
The theme was “Justice Or Else.” The event drew participants of various nationali- ties, religious beliefs, and ethnic backgrounds to Washington, D. C.
Brother Richard Muhammad said of the event, “The experience of attending the march was one of a lifetime. It was amazing to see that many men come together for a com-

mon cause. And, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan continues on the move- ment for #Justice Or Else! We are asking everyone to come out and participate in this Live Webcast on Sunday.”
Ali Muhammad, New Black Panther Party, attended the event. He said, “Being part of the 20th Anniversary of the Million Man March “Justice or Else” was a moment in life, I can never take away. Reaching Washing- ton, D.C. from the South, I felt the same pain we feel living here in the Americas, the injus- tice of the judicial system, education system, city & state government and mass incarcera- tion.
“The New Black Panther Party members from around the world marched with hun- dreds of students.”

Two Hurt In Wreck With Stolen SUV
On Thursday, two individu- als were injured and two other arrested. The incident took place at the intersection of N. 32nd Street and E. Hanna Av- enue.
According to Steve Hegarty, spokesperson for the Tampa Police Department, the incident took place around 10:30 a.m.
A Tampa Police officer in an unmarked car observed a white, Toyota SUV parked at the intersection of N. 40th Street and E. Mohawk. The of- ficer ran the license plate and determined the vehicle had been stolen. He watched the vehicle until 2 individuals en- tered it and drove off.
“There was no pursuit, the unmarked car followed them. But at some point, they got
spooked and took off.” Hegarty said the SUV was
travelling southbound on N. 32nd Street when it reached the intersection of E. Hanna Avenue they failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a silver-colored Dodge Charger.
They two suspects fled the scene on foot. However, both were taken into custody a short time later.
Both the driver and passen- ger in the Dodge Charger were transported to a local hospital. However, police said they don’t believe they suffered life- threatening injuries.
The names of the accident victims or those arrested were not available at press time. The suspects are facing multiple charges.
Gospel Concert To Highlight Breast Cancer
Awareness Month
On Sunday, October 18th, local promoter Craig Bridges and his consultant, Kathy Henry will be presenting a gospel musical in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The gospel show will be held at the Center for Manifes- tation, 3102 East Lake Avenue, and will begin at 5:30 p.m. Prior to the show, there will be a kickoff for an educational forum on breast cancer from 4 p. m. until 5:15 p. m. Vendors will be present, and there will be plenty of giveaways and other treats for those in atten- dance.
The Mistress of Ceremony for the show will be Sister
Cantelope from Los Angeles, California, and among the gospel groups appearing will be Doc McKenzie and The Gospel Highlites, Helen Miller, Roy and the Reve- lations, the Edwards Sis- ters, the Suwanee Quintet, Bishop Neal Roberson and Company, and the Tampa Based Harmony Winds.
There will be special salutes given to women who have sur- vived breast cancer and pledges of support for the women still suffering from the disease.
Ms. Henry wants to ex- tend thanks to the area pastors and churches who have been very supportive of this event.
