President Obama Has No Patience For Opponents Of Nuclear Deal
Former President Jimmy Carter Has Cancer
President Obama in recent interview about the nuclear deal with Iran.
Former President Jimmy Carter, who at age 90 still travels the world supporting the humanitarian endeavors that have consumed his time in the decades since he left of- fice, announced Wednesday he has cancer that has spread to other parts of his body.
“Recent liver surgery re- vealed that I have cancer that now is in other parts of my body,” Carter said in the statement released by the Carter Center. “I will be rear- ranging my schedule as neces- sary so I can undergo treatment by physicians at Emory Healthcare.”
The statement makes clear
that Carter’s
cancer is
widely spread
but not where
it originated, or
even if that is
known at this
point. The liver
is often a place
where cancer
spreads and less commonly is the primary source of it. The statement said further infor- mation will be provided when more facts are known, “possi- bly next week.”
Carter announced on Aug. 3 that he had surgery to re- move a small mass from his liver.

President Obama says his agreement over Iran's nuclear program — while facing fierce criticism in Congress and among the American public now — will look better in years to come.
In an interview with NPR, the President expressed no patience for opponents of the deal, saying their argu- ments are "illogical or based on the wrong facts, and then you ask them, 'All right, what's your alternative?' and there's a deafening si-
lence."
The President also said
that his critics need to "pull out of the immediate poli- tics" and consider "the right thing to do for the country." Republicans have led the criticism of the Iran deal, but prominent Democrats, including Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Eliot Engel, have also voiced their opposition.
"When this agreement is implemented and ... we've got inspectors on the ground
and it becomes clear that Iran in fact is abiding by this agreement, then attitudes will change, because people will recognize that, in fact, whatever parade of horribles was presented in opposition have not come true," Presi- dent Obama said. "That, instead, what we've seen is an effective way to bind Iran to a commitment not to have nuclear weapons and, in that scenario, it'll probably be forgotten that Republi- cans uniformly opposed it."

Her ratings and "honest and trustworthy" numbers have slipped downward in the last few months.

White House Staffer Arrested
For Threatening Boyfriend
White House staffer has been placed on unpaid leave after she reportedly threat- ened her boyfriend with a gun during an argument about other women.
Barvetta Singletary, 37, who serves as a Special Assis- tant to the President and House Legislative Affairs Liai- son, confronted her boyfriend, a U. S. Capitol Police officer, with his service weapon on Friday.
Charging documents viewed by the news station al- lege that after Singletary's boyfriend arrived at her Upper Marlboro, Md. home, the two sat inside his car. She confronted him about seeing other women and asked to see his cell phone. When the man refused to give her the cell phone Singletary reportedly reached into the man's bag and took "two cell phones and the victim's .40-caliber Glock 23 service weapon.
Singletary reportedly ran into the home while the man followed asking for his guns. Singletary allegedly refused to give the weapons back until he gave her the passwords to both phones.
According to the arrest warrant, Singletary took her weapon from the holster and reportedly told the man, "You taught me how to use this.

Don't think I won't use it." When the victim refused to give up the phone passwords Singletary reportedly stated: "Your phone is more impor- tant than me holding the gun on you."
Singletary then allegedly turned and fired a shot into the sofa near where the victim was sitting.
The man then ran from the house and called 911. He noted that he witnessed Sin- gletary wiping the gun down with a towel as he was leaving. Singletary was arrested at her home and has been charged with domestic vio- lence. A White House spokesperson told the news station that Singletary pres- idential access has been re- voked.
