   Another Rock Thrown At Jameis
really like Jameis Win- ston. When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted
him in the first round three years ago, I didn't think they could have made a better se- lection. These days, I'm not so sure.
When he's on the field, out- side of a tendency to turnover the ball, he's more than proven his worth.
When he was in college being accused of sexual as- sault, stealing crab legs from grocery stores, making profane outbursts inside of the student center and point-shaving foot- ball games (allegedly), I attrib- uted at least some of those things to him being woefully immature. Not a bad kid, just extremely stupid at times.
All of the negative publicity he received coming into the league, stemming from those incidents, led me to give him a pass for not being vocal on so- cial issues and coming off as a very well-behaved Negro dur- ing the national anthem protests. I figured his silence and the "company man" per- sona he projected was all a part of him attempting to stay under the radar considering his controversial background... I was wrong.
When the story surfaced last week of Jameis (allegedly) groping an Uber driver in Ari- zona in 2016, was here we go again. An allegation that is hard to prove because he had witnesses at the scene.
How can the Uber driver win this case when a witness, Eagles Cornerback Ron Darby, says Jameis was sit- ting in the backseat with him? A third person was sitting in the front with the Uber driver.
For some reason, neither Darby nor Jameis has iden- tified the person sitting in the front seat with the driver.
With all of the baggage hanging over Jameis' head from those turbulent and Heisman Trophy years at Florida State you would as- sume that he would be asking for a notarized statement of approval from any woman he even thought about being around. This is not to imply that he's guilty in this instance. But there's no denying that the optics are terrible. Jameis is an unforgiven man from the first case. Even a St. Pete Times Columnist wrote, “If true, he’s done in this town.”
Wow! Pittsburgh’s Ben Roethlisberger had 2 rape cases, Peyton Manning had
7 accusers, and these are fu- ture “Hall of Famers.”
The standards are different Jameis. The day you think white folks love you, is the day you could be just like good quarterbacks sitting home, Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin, III, or Josh Free- man.
Regardless of what tran- spired, the bottom line is that, this incident is a reminder that the past is still chasing Jameis and he should never let his guard down.
Even though this was five years ago and Jameis was in college, at some stage in his ca- reer Jameis has to realize that he's not just some anonymous kid from Bessemer, Alabama anymore. He is a multi-mil- lionaire, with a target on his back, working for a corpora- tion that doesn't mind remov- ing him from his position if it means protecting its reputa- tion.
If Jameis wants to suc- ceed, and become the man and quarterback he's always envi- sioned himself to be, it all starts with him getting his act together quickly. If he doesn't, and he finds himself some- where unemployed thinking about what could have been, he'll only have that cement block sitting atop his shoulders to blame.

Hate Crimes Jump After Trump!
hough the news that hate crimes in America have
increased by more than 300 in 2016 since the Trump election comes as no-surprise to minorities and certain religious groups, we are saddened by the large increase.
Indeed, the latest Federal Bureau of Investigation’s annual report on hate crimes across the nation shows that hate crimes against Muslims has shown the high- est increase. However, the Department of Justice ar- gues that the hate crime statistics are 25 to 40 times higher than FBI figures.
Ten days after the November 2016 Presidential Election, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) re- ported 867 cases of hateful harassment or intimida- tion, everywhere – in schools, businesses like Walmart, on the street,” according to SPLC’s presi- dent, Richard Cohen.
Indeed, recent FBI data shows that the latest in- crease in hate crimes took place against Muslims and whites with more reports of hate crimes against Jews than against any other religious groups (Eastern Or- thodox Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Mormons, Jeho- vah’s Witnesses, and Buddhists).
At least 6,121 criminal hate incidents were reported in 2016 with 57.5% motivated by religious bias. In ad- dition, 17.7% were motivated by sexual orientation, and 3.8% were motivated by gender identity, disabil- ity, or gender bias.
In spite of these figures, we are heartened by the large number of Americans who have protested against hate and bigotry. These are the Americans who confirm that love does indeed trump hate, after all.
   Being A Belle In Business
   PART II
Empowered Greetings.
In the private sector of your personal life and in the business sector for your pro- fessional life, it is important that you govern yourself with a certain level of grace and charm. If you do, you'll find that you can actually get more accomplished and garner more
support for your endeavors. Although, beauty, grace and charm are important, I want to focus on 5 characters attributed to Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, by the people of the village where she
lived.
The last 3 unusual characteristics can cause your business to boom and your bank account to
explode.
3. Belle didn't fit into
the crowd. When you don't fit into the crowd, that's an in- dication that you are deter- mined to lead your life, on your terms and not a path that someone else has chosen for you. When you don't fit into the crowd, that's what causes people to take notice of you. They will want to know who you are and what your busi- ness is all about. Not fitting in can take your business from obscurity to notoriety. Stand Out!
4. Belle was scholarly.
She was always reading. Read- ing is key to developing mental stimulation of your brain. Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. Read- ing gives you new insight. New
insight fosters new ideas. New ideas can generate new rev- enue streams and increased in- come. Don't just be pretty. Be smart and be paid!
5. Belle was considered funny in an odd way. Don't worry if your look, your style and the way you do business goes against the odds. That's what makes you - you. Never let someone else's criticism minimize your self-worth or the value of your business. They may tease you now, but when your bank account is booming, you'll be the one laughing later.
I've shared with you these 5 qualities that Belle displayed in the movie Beauty and the Beast. Use these as a founda- tion to build on. However, you will ultimately need to deter- mine the qualities you possess that make you authentically you and will set your business apart from others in your in- dustry.
