IN THE SPOTLIGHT
EION GUSTITIS 8/13/1997 --- 9/6/2015
Two Tampa people have been taken into custody in con- nection with the murder of a Tampa teenager. His body was found in the road earlier this month.
According to Tampa Police, on the morning of September 6th, police responded to the 9700 block of Commerce Street in New Tampa. Upon arriving, they discovered the body of a teenager, later identified as 18- year-old Eion Gustitis.
Gustitis, who was a senior at Freedom High School, had been shot in the upper body.
Earlier this week, police ar- rested Ezekiel Marc, 20, and charged him with being an ac- cessory after the fact to an armed robbery involving a firearm. On Thursday, police arrested 16-year-old Kyra Rielle Cuadrado and charged her with being an ac-

Police said that as a result of interviews with Gustitis’ friends and acquaintances, they have determined that Gustitis was allegedly suspected of stealing someone’s cell phone and approximately 10 grams of marijuana while at a party.
The person whose property was stolen allegedly asked Cuadrado and two others to “take care of it.”
On September 5, Ezekiel Marc is said to have picked up Gustitis at his apartment and drove him to a residence at 9711 Commerce Street.
Sometime late September 5 or early September 6, a person known to Cuadrado and Marc got out of the car with Gustitis, and after a few min- utes, he returned to the car

with Gustitis’ shorts and money, stating. “It’s done; let’s go.” Marc was given $30 or $40 of the money taken from the victim, police said.
Cuadrado later told detec- tives that she threw the murder weapon, as well as a box of bul- lets, in a lake to prevent police from finding it. On September 15, the Tampa Police Depart- ment Dive Team recovered a box of .22 caliber bullets from the lake. The next day the dive team recovered a Jennings .22 caliber pistol from the lake.
Police believe the suspect is someone known to Kyra Cuadrado.
An autopsy determined that Gustitis was shot with a .22 caliber bullet.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Crime Stoppers where they can provide information anony- mously. No additional arrests had been made at press time. However, the investigation into the murder is continuing.
