Happy Mother’s Day To Our Beautiful Mother, Ma Dukez
CARETTA KNIGHT
When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother al- ways has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.
Thank you for think- ing twice a million times for us.
Love always, your children, Don, Diane, Anthony, and Janay. Happy Mother’s Day.
“There is only one pretty child in the world, and every mother has it.”

Every year, commercials on television, spe- cial shows, sidewalk vendors, and celebrities pay tribute to their mothers on Mother’s Day.
Although it’s great that mothers are recog- nized on this national holiday, is the one day of recognition enough? A few people feel it’s not nearly enough.
Darla Saunders: “I think it’s nice to set aside a day to pay trib-
ute to our mothers, but
I feel that’s something
that should be done every day. Because of the work they do and the lack of appreciation they get, I don’t think there are enough days to pay them tribute.
“The mothers raise the children, take care of the house, work, have careers, and most have very little time for themselves. I think mothers make the ultimate sacrifice, and you can’t say how much you appreciate them once a year.”
Evangelist/Pastor Cornelius Hamil- ton: “There’s no way
one day is enough. Just
being a mother comes
with a ton of responsi- bilities.
“A good mother puts
in more work than any
benefits they may re-
ceive. Being raised by a
single parent, I saw
firsthand the difficulties of trying to prepare a boy to become a man. My mom woe the hats of mom and dad in my house, so there were some things I couldn’t relate to. But when it came to discipline and staying on task, it was my mother who did hat. How can I possibly show my ap- preciation to her on one designated day every year?”
Michelle Walker: “I think we should pay tribute to mothers all
year, and it doesn’t
necessarily have to be a
biological mother. I ap- preciate the day being recognized, but I would like to see more trib- utes to mothers be- cause they deserve it.”
Sheilah Youngblood: “Every day is Mother’s Day. God put
her here to produce
and she should be hon-
ored all the time. One day is not nearly enough time to show your appreciation for the job they do.
“Some women can’t
be natural mothers because they can’t have chil- dren. But they’re still fulfilling that role by rais- ing the children of others.”
Pete Edwards: “We must be reminded that a mother’s work is never done. They don’t need a holiday. I recog- nize them every day for the untiring work they do in the home and outside of the home.”
Dianne Hart: “For those of you fortunate to have your mother
living, appreciate her
every day and do
things for her to show love. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion.
“My children do
things for me all the
time and it’s not be-
cause it’s Mother’s
Day, my birthday or any other nationally recog- nized day.”
