Jameis Winston is healthy and ready to get his 2016 season underway.
Cleveland Cav Iman Shumpert Debuts New Track
Cleveland Cavalier Iman Shumpert.
Fresh off the screen from his cameo in Kanye West’s well- received music video for “Fade,” Iman Shumpert is looking to ride this new wave of fame a little longer. The Cleve- land Cavaliers shooting guard debuted his new track, “Glory” Tuesday (Aug. 30).
The new single seems to mix a bit of electric, retro sounds, as Shumpert raps about mate- rial things, and escaping the struggles of fame.
NBA Star Dwight Howard Donates Money To Help African Girls Go To School

Dwight Howard is more than a basketball player. He's even more than a philanthro- pist.
The Atlanta Hawks center doesn't just donate his money in the hopes of making the world a better place, he truly embodies the spirit of giving back.
Through Howard's D12 Foundation, the basketball star has been making efforts not only to "facilitate positive change in the lives of American youth", but also to empower the schoolgirls of Tanzania by pro- viding them with the educa- tional resources needed to succeed.
“One of the things that I was told was that it’s very hard for women to go to school, and when they do there’s a danger of them being raped or kidnapped and all sorts of things happen- ing with them getting to school,” Howard told the Huffington Post.
“That didn’t sit too well with me.AndsoIjustwanttodomy part to help these women with the opportunity to go to school and learn.”
Vikings Officially Place Teddy Bridgewater On Injured Reserve; Out For The Season
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been fortunate to end their preseason without any in- juries to their starters, and with a 2-2 record.
On Wednesday night in a rain soaked contest, the Bucs fell to the Washington Redskins 20-13 with 21 of their 22 starters sitting the game out.
On September 11th, the team will open their regular season on the road against their NFC South rivals, the Atlanta Fal- cons.
Buccaneer quarterback, Jameis Winston, didn’t play at all in their preseason finale against the Redskins, but he ex- pressed his desire to get the season started.
“I’m very eager to get the sea- son started. I’m feeling good about our team this year, be- cause all of the pieces are there. I have a pair of great wide re- ceivers, a tight end, and run- ning back I think are the best in
the league.
“I really feel good about our
offensive line, and I know those guys are prepared to go to war.” Winston participated in the team’s warm-ups prior to the Redskins game, but because of the bad weather, and the fact it was their final regular season game, head coach Dirk Koet- ter sat his starter down for the
night.
Confidence is high on both
sides of the ball this season, and the Bucs understand they will have to be at their best to chal- lenge last year’s NFC South, and Super Bowl runner-up, Carolina Panthers. Their quar- terback, Cam Newton, has his top receiver, Kelvin Ben- jamin, returning, and they’ve looked great during the presea- son.
Game time will be 1 p.m. for the Bucs-Falcons game, and it will be televised on Fox TV.
When the Minnesota Vikings announced the extent of quar- terback Teddy Bridgewa- ter’s knee injury on Tuesday, they didn’t say that Bridge- water’s season was over even though his torn ACL and dislo- cated knee made it all but cer- tain.
The Vikings have now gone ahead and made it official. The team announced on Wednes- day afternoon that Bridgewa- ter has been placed on injured reserve. While teams can hold off on designating a player to return thanks to a rule change this season, the player must be placed on IR after the cut to 53 players so Bridgewater will spend the foreseeable future rehabbing with 2017 in his sights.
Minnesota also formally an- nounced the expected return of
TEDDY BRIDGEWATER
Brad Sorensen to the quar- terback room. Sorensen was waived this week, but reports after Tuesday’s injury indicated he would come back if he cleared waivers.
Sorensen joins Shaun Hill and rookie Joel Stave on the active roster while Taylor Heinicke remains on the non- football injury list after hurting his foot while kicking a door.
Ben Simmons Joins LeBron James, Dwyane Wade For Workout

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade might not be Miami Heat teammates any- more -- in fact, both players have moved on to other teams -- but they're still good friends and workout buddies, based on the picture Wade posted to his Instagram account Wednesday.
James and Wade weren't alone at UCLA's Student Activ- ities Center. They were joined by Richard Jefferson and Jordan McRae, both team- mates of James on the 2016 championship-winning Cleve- land Cavaliers, and -- more no- tably -- 2016 No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons.

under harsh criticism since his decision to sit during the na- tional anthem of the 49er’s pre- season game last Friday (Aug. 26), protesting the oppression of people of color in the United States.
Many thought it would be dis- tasteful to veterans who have served the nation, but it turns out a bunch back his decision and don’t see any problem with him exercising his right. The hashtag #VeteransForKaeper- nick exploded on social media. Black Lives Matter activist, Deray McKesson, summed

When football players from Florida State University visited Montford Middle School on Tuesday, something amazing happened.
Travis Rudolph, a wide re- ceiver for the Seminoles, no- ticed a student sitting alone at lunch. So he decided to join him. "I saw him sitting by him- self, so I got a plate of pizza and I asked if I could sit with him. He said, 'Sure, why not,'" Rudolph explained.
"I just felt like we had a great conversation. He started off so open. He told me his name was Bo, how much he loves Florida State, and we went from there."
This was a special moment
for many reasons. Bo has Autism, and his mother Leah Paske often worries about him at school. But imagine the joy she felt after seeing a photo of her son and Rudolph sharing a meal. She immediately posted a message on Facebook expressing her gratitude to the player.
"I'm not sure what exactly made this incredibly kind man share a lunch table with my son, but I'm happy to say that it will not soon be forgotten," she wrote. "This is one day I didn't have to worry if my sweet boy ate lunch alone, because he sat across from someone who is a hero in many eyes."
