Las Vegas Raiders Workout With Colin Kaepernick
Panthers Reportedly
Colin Kaepernick con- ducted his first workout with an NFL team since 2017, tak- ing the field for the Las Vegas Raiders last Wednesday, two sources close to the former NFL quarterback told re- porters.
The move comes one month after Raiders owner Mark Davis expressed a willingness to bring Kaeper- nick in for a look, despite the quarterback not having played
season.
“I believe in Colin Kaeper-
nick,” Davis told NBC Sports Bay Area last month. “He de- serves every chance in the world to become a quarter- back in the National Football League. I still stand by it. If our coaches and general man- ager want to bring him in or want him to be the quarter- back on this team, I would welcome him with open arms.”
Former Dolphins RB Ricky Williams Legally Changed His Name To This And Why He Did It
RICKY WILLIAMS
Former Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams has legally changed his name.
Appearing on the “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” last week, Williams discussed how he changed his name to Errick Miron. The first name isn’t different. It’s the 45-year- old’s birth name, though he’s always went by Ricky. The last name, however, is taken from his wife, Linnea.
“I did it probably a year and a half ago, made it official,” he said. “Something I’ve been thinking about and talking about, and I finally went through the steps. I went to the social security office with my marriage certificate, and I went through the process. It was quick and easy, and it felt meaningful. Really meaning- ful.”
He mentioned his wife is an attorney, so she’s a big shot around her friends but he’s the famous one so there’s an imbal- ance when people sort of forget about her with him around.
But Williams discovered a way to create balance in their relationship. “One of the ideas that popped into my mind was I can take her last name,” Williams said.

Cam Newton has strug- gled over his last two seasons, but the Carolina Panthers aren’t closing the door on bringing him back for 2022.
On Monday, the Charlotte Observer reported that the Panthers are open to signing Newton. Alexander says there are two conditions under which Carolina would sign Newton: he would not enter camp as the starter, and he would need to agree to a smaller salary.
Bringing in Newton on these terms could make sense for both parties. The former MVP’s best days seem to be behind him, but he’s familiar

with the organization. New- ton could also serve as a men- tor to rookie quarterback Matt Corral.
The Panthers’ quarterback room of Sam Darnold, Cor- ral and P.J. Walker is un- proven. Newton could replace any of the three if they got hurt.
Willing To Bring Back Cam
Jon Gruden is suing the NFL, alleging that they held onto emails and selectively leaked them with the purpose of forcing Gruden to lose his job as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
The NFL filed a motion to dismiss the case and a motion to compel arbitration. Nevada judge Nancy L. Allf on Wednesday denied both mo- tions. The NFL argued that arbitration is necessary due to Gruden’s contract with the Raiders. But the former head coach’s legal team coun-

tered that Gruden is not
bound to his contract since he resigned from his job on Oct. 11. Judge Allf agreed.
The NFL plans to appeal the judge’s decision.
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis An- tetokounmpo and Dallas guard Luka Doncic high- lighted the league's All-NBA team announced on Tuesday night.
Jokic, the 2021-22 NBA MVP, was not the leading vote getter for the team. That honor went to Antetokounmpo who received all 100 votes for the first team at one of the for- ward spots.
Jokic and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, who finished second in the MVP voting, split votes as the first-team center. Both players were eligible at forward, and some voters opted to put both players on the first team that way. Embiid made the sec- ond team at the center spot.
Antetokounmpo was the only unanimous selection, and he becomes the first player over the last 50 years to be a unanimous selection to the All-NBA first team in four con- secutive seasons, according to ESPN Stats & Information re- search.
Doncic picked up his third first-team nod prior to turning 24, becoming just the third player to do so as he joins Kevin Durant, Tim Dun- can and Max Zaslofsky.
Joining Jokic, Antetok- ounmpo and Doncic on the first team were Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum and Phoenix Suns guard Devin

Booker. According to the league, it's the first time the first team is made up entirely of players 27 years or younger since 1954-1955.
It was the first selection to the first team for both players and the first for Booker over- all. Tatum made the All-NBA third team in 2019-20.
Tatum is the first Celtics player to make All-NBA 1st Team since Kevin Garnett in 2007-2008 and the youngest Celtics player to make All-NBA 1st Team since Larry Bird in 1979-1980. While Embiid had the second team center spot, the guard spots went to Golden State's Stephen Curry and Memphis' Ja Morant, and the forward spots were Durant and Chicago's DeMar DeRozan. The third team was comprised of Phoenix guard Chris Paul, Atlanta guard Trae Young, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, Toronto for- ward Pascal Siakam and Minnesota center Karl-An- thony Towns.
