Tracy Chapman Wins $450K In Copyright Suit Against Nicki Minaj
'The Haves And The Have Nots' Will Officially End With Its Current Eighth Season After Nearly 200 Episodes
    Nicki Minaj is “Sorry” after all.
The new mom, 38, agreed to pay Tracy Chapman $450,000 in addition to Chap- man’s legal fees after she was sued for copyright infringement in regards to Chapman’s song, “Baby Can I Hold You.”
Chapman acknowledged the offer on December 30 and her acceptance was entered into the court system on Thurs- day, per federal court docu- ments obtained by Page Six on Friday.
Chapman, 56, and Minaj were set to go to trial over

  Chapman’s claims later this year. She first filed suit against the “Super Bass” rapper in Oc- tober 2018.
While Minaj didn’t release
the track in question on her album, “Queen,” she did al- legedly leak it to Funkmaster Flex, which led to its circula- tion online.

 'Batwoman' Star Javicia Leslie Is 'Very Honored' To Be Playing The Iconic Hero
OWN's long-running Tyler Perry series (and their lone Perry series after he departed for ViacomCBS) The Haves and the Have Nots will end after its eighth season airs in May, the network has con- firmed.
The show was the network's first scripted drama, debuting in May 2013. It follows "the complicated dynamic between the rich and powerful Cryer and Harrington families and the hired help who work for them in their opulent man- sions." The series stars John Schneider, Tika Sumpter, Angela Robinson, Renee Lawless, Crystal Fox, Peter Parros, Tyler Lep-
ley, Gavin Houston, Aaron O’Connell, Brett Davis and Brock Yurich.
“’The Haves and the Have Nots’ was the first scripted drama we aired on OWN, and to say it took off from the first day it hit the air is an under- statement,” said Oprah Win- frey. “It’s all due to one man’s creativity and very vivid imag- ination, a man I refer to as my ‘big little brother,’ Tyler Perry. I thank Tyler, the in- credible cast, the tireless crew and every single viewer who watched with bated breath each week and tweeted along with us these past eight years. I will be watching alongside you all during this final season.”
Javicia Leslie spoke with Insider about joining "Bat- woman" as the lead star on its second season.
Leslie plays an original char- acter, Ryan Wilder, who takes over the Bat mantle from former Batwoman Kate Kane (Ruby Rose).
The actress grew up loving Batman with Val Kilmer being her favorite person to don the cape and cowl.
She describes Batwoman's new suit as "epic," which was

worked on for months.
Leslie said she feels honored
to step into the role during a pivotal time in America's his- tory.
"It's very important that we continue to have representation on the screen so that we can continue to build a future of people that feel empowered to fight their fight and speak their piece," Leslie said..
When the show returned for its second season on The CW last Sunday, Leslie will be the first Black actress to play Bat- woman.
    Newcomer Grace Porter To Play Betty Shabazz In 'Godfather Of Harlem' Season 2
 Newcomer Grace Porter will recur in the second season of Godfather of Harlem as Betty Shabazz opposite Nigel Thatch's Malcolm X.
Season 1 of the show also starred Vincent D'Onofrio, Giancarlo Esposito, Ilfe- nesh Hadera, Markuann Smith, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Paul Sorvino and Nigél Thatch.
Porter recently graduated

from NYU's Tisch School and her work includes playing Ma Rainey their production of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. On television, she's appeared in Madam Secretary and Prodigal Son.
