Prison Inmate Account To Be Seized
Following a request from prosecutors, Judge Ann M. Donnelly has ordered the Bu- reau of Prisons (BOP) to seize $28,000 in funds from R. Kelly’s prison inmate ac- count.
As reported by Bloomberg last month, prosecutors filed a motion to seize the money until a restitution judgment could be reached. Donnelly has ruled that the funds could be seized by the government as Kelly has filed to pay any of the financial penalties he was issued after being found guilty of rackteering and sex traffick- ing charges, per legal docu- ments reviewed by Complex.
When the disgraced singer was sentenced in June, he was ordered to pay a $100,00 fine, a $900 special assessment, and an additional assessment of $40,000. “On August 4, 2022, at the government’s di- rection, the BOP restrained or ‘froze’ $27,824.24 of the money in the defendant’s trust account, leaving a balance of

Ne-Yo objects Crystal Smith’s request for alimony. According to reports, court documents reveal that Ne-Yo wants joint custody of the three children he shares with Crystal. It also says that he agreed that his marriage is “ir- retrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation.” Docu- ments also stated that the singer/songwriter has denied the request to pay alimony and just wants to have joint legal and physical custody. The doc- uments also say, “[Ne-Yo] as- serts that he is financially, physically, and emotionally ca- pable of serving as a joint physical custodian of the par- ties’ three minor children alongside Crystal.”
Ne-Yo also reportedly de- mands their Georgia mansion as “he has been solely respon- sible for the mortgage and maintenance of this property since the date of purchase.” He claims that throughout the course of their marriage, he purchases three properties and kept up with maintenance by himself.

On the other hand, Crystal Smith is claiming that since she separated from Ne-Yo she has been taking care of their three children and is looking to gain primary physical cus- tody, joint legal custody. In a petition written on her behalf, Smith believes that she “is en- titled to a divorce from Ne-Yo upon the ground that the mar- riage is irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation as Ne-Yo has committed the act of adultery.”
