This week, we honor Angel as our Spotlight fea- ture. There is never a shortage of strength and courage when Angel embarks on a venture, and she’s always positive that the end will always justify the means. Congratulations to Angel as this week’s Spot- light feature.
Plant City High Graduate
Derykah Dixon will be graduating from Plant City High School on June 2, 2016 with a GPA of 3.2.
Her job sometimes conflicts with her extracurricular activi- ties, but she’s still involved in AVID, Black Pearls and Stu- dent Government. At her church, St. Luke, she’s in the Youth Choir, Sunday School and Youth Bible Study.
Derykah will be attending Tallahassee Community Col- lege and plans to major in So- ciology and become a Guidance Counselor.

Florida A&M University National Alumni Association Tampa Chapter Presents The Rattlers Den Extravaganza Scholarship Fundraiser
The Florida A&M Univer- sity National Alumni Associa- tion Tampa Chapter is the host chapter for the 2016 Florida A&M University’s National Alumni Association Conven- tion being held May 25-29, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel located at 2900 Bayport Dr., Tampa.
At this year’s national con- vention, the Tampa Chapter will close out the convention with The Rattlers Den Ex- travaganza Scholarship Fundraiser, “Forever Rat- tlin’ to Keep our Students in School” on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel (host hotel) Ballroom 10 p. m.- 2 a. m. Admission is $35.00.
The Tampa Chapter is on a mission to reach their $250,000.00 endowed schol- arship goal and funding over the next five years to keep Tampa Bay area students in school at Florida A&M Univer- sity.
The FAMU NAA of Tampa Chapter was established in 1948 in Tampa and has re- cruited thousands of high school students to continue their education at FAMU, while continuing to offer fi- nancial support in scholar- ships and other needs.
