Mayor’s Race:
Candidates Qualify For City Of Tampa Election

Last Friday, eight Tampa residents qualified as candi- dates to replace current Mayor Bob Buckhorn. Mayor Buckhorn is leaving as a result of term limits. Reginald Howard qualified as a Write-In candidate.
Some of the candidates are well known in local govern- ment or as local businessmen. The election will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. The candidates are:
Former Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor is the only woman vying for the office. She brings to the equation 31 years in law enforcement.
Harry Cohen currently seats on the City Council as the representative for District 4. A

Tampa native, Cohen is a practicing attorney. Cohen was elected to Tampa City Council in 2011 and re-elected in 2015.
Dick Greco, Jr., is the son of former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco. A former Hills- borough County and Circuit Court Judge, and was elected to the County Court bench. In 1994, he was appointed to the
