FAMU Fall Enrollment Only Slightly Off From Last Year
Even with the Coronavirus Pandemic, a comparison of FAMU’s August 26, 2019 vs August 26, 2020 enrollment statis- tics, shows that the university’s headcount is down by only 236 students. The numbers suggest that the fall headcount looks far more promising than it did earlier in the spring at the onset of the pandemic.
With students still registering for classes during the “drop and add period” the university could still meet or surpass its enroll- ment goals for fall.
On August 26, 2019, 8,984 students had registered for classes. The final fall total was 9,617 students enrolled.

COVID-19 has changed our day-to-day living, but our com-
mitment to supporting stu- dents and families for aca- demic success is vital. The drive thru event assured safety for participants, sponsors and volunteers, as we followed state and Federal CDC guide-
lines.
The Lakeland Branch
NAACP Youth Council is grate- ful to Florida Technical College and Coney's Funeral Home for partnering and supporting the community event.
