Deputies Search For Shoplifting Suspects In $738 Theft
Man Pleads Guilty To Firearm, Drug Charges

A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty to drug trafficking and weapons charges last Friday. He is facing a minimum mandatory 5 years to life in prison.
Anthony Sanchez, of Bradenton, pleaded guilty to possessing with the intent to distribute carfentanil and pos- session of a firearm in further- ance of a drug-trafficking crime. A sentencing date has not been set in the case.
According to his plea agreement, Sanchez sold an undercover agent a stolen Sig- Sauer 9 mm caliber handgun and ammunition. The sale took place at the Desoto Square Mall in Bradenton. He also sold the agent 10.85 grams of carfentanil. During the sale, Sanchez was in pos- session of a loaded .22 caliber revolver.
Deputies Need Help To Locate Missing Men
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for three women in connection with a shoplifting case. The theft took place on July 25th.
According to police, around 4:40 p.m., three Black women entered the H & M Store, 8021 Citrus Park Town Center Mall. The women con- cealed approximately $738 in women’s clothing in bags they had brought with them.
They then left the store without paying. They were last
seen leaving the mall in a four- door silver sedan.
All three are described as being between 17 and 20 years of age and between 5’6” and 5’9” tall. The first suspect weighs approximately 175 pounds. The second suspect weighs about 150 pounds, and the third suspect weighs about 100 pounds.

SHOPLIFTING SUSPECTS
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is still trying to locate two men who have been reported missing for more than a week. They are currently investigating two reports of the missing adults. One of the men has been missing for more than three weeks.
According to police, 37- year-old Gift Bless Smith, of Riverview, was last seen on July 13th at the group home where he resides. He left the facility between 6:30 p.m., and 10 p.m., and has not returned. Smith has been communicating through text messages, but will not reveal his location.
Smith is described as 5’5” tall and weighs about 167 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and a visi- ble scar on the back of his head.
In the second missing person’s report, police are at- tempting to locate Derrick Boyd. He was last seen shortly after 6:30 p.m., Tues- day.
Boyd, 37, got out of his daughter’s car in front of 12512 Bruce B. Downs Blvd.,

and walked in a southern di- rection. Police said Boyd is new to the area and has med- ical issues.
Boyd is described as a Black man, about 5’7” tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and he walks with a limp because all of his toes are missing on his right foot.
He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans. Police did not have a photo- graph of Boyd.

Police Charge Boyfriend With Second-Degree Murder

Deputies with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office ar- rested a man in connection with the death of his live-in girlfriend. The woman died of gunshot wounds.
According to police, deputies responded to 6998 59th Street, in Pinellas Park, Tuesday. When they arrived, they found Ms. Nellie Denise Collins, 59, dead.
During their investigation, detectives learned that Ms. Collins and her boyfriend, 52-year-old Thomas Lee Owens, II, had been en- gaged in a domestic dispute. Prior to the argument, Owens had allegedly armed himself with a handgun and sat in the living room with the victim and Ms. Tracy Starks, Ms. Collins’ sister.
Owens and Ms. Collins became engaged in an argu- ment and as the argument es- calated and Owens allegedly pulled the gun and shot Ms. Collins. He then pointed it at Ms. Starks. However, he never fired it and she escaped and called 9-1-1.

Ms. Collins died as a re- sult of her injuries.
When police arrived, Owens was outside, sitting on a screened porch with the firearm. He refused to drop the gun, although he was told to several times, but eventu- ally dropped it. He was ar- rested and charged with second-degree murder, ag- gravated assault with a deadly weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was transported to the Pinellas County Jail, where he is being held with- out bond.
