Activist Hosts Annual Summer Mentoring Program Meeting
Free Lunches, Snacks Available This Summer For Hillsborough Kids
On Monday, June 3rd, Horace Drew, founder of Rays Of Hope Community Outreach, will host a meeting for parents and children. It will be held at the Rays Of Hope Ministry, 211 S. 22nd Street.
The meeting is to discuss and provide information about the 6th Annual Rays Of Hope Community Outreach Mentoring Program. Drew said all parents must attend the meeting with their chil- dren.

It will begin at 7 p.m. The program will also kick off the
same evening and is de- signed for youngsters from theageof7to19.Thepro- gram will provide a safe, pos- itive, environment for the youngsters during the sum- mer.
The Mentoring Sessions will be held twice a week on Monday and Thursday from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. It will begin on June 3rd and end on July 29th.

Children living in Hills- borough County will have the opportunity to participate in a free lunch and snacks pro- gram this summer.
Once again, Hillsborough County is participating in the Summer BreakSpot Program, which provides free nutri- tious lunches and afternoon
snacks to children at about 50 sites throughout the county.
This year’s program runs from June 3 to Aug. 2 and will provide nearly 500,000 lunches and snacks.
The Summer BreakSpot Program will provide a bal- anced meal during summer vacation when school meals are not available. The meals and snacks will be offered at local parks and other conven- ient locations to children under 18.

The Summer BreakSpot program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agricul- ture and administered locally by Hillsborough County Aging Services. The depart- ment will provide fun and in- teractive nutrition education to promote healthy eating and lifestyle choices.
