NOTICE OF PROPOSED APPROVAL
OF A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 163 FLORIDA STATUTES
The City of Tampa proposes to approve a City of Tampa Development Agreement for the Rocky Point Hotel for a 2.11+/- acre property located at 2500 Rocky Point Drive, in the City of Tampa, Florida.
The first public hearing will be held on May 14, 2015, at 6 p.m. and the second public hearing will be held on June 4, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., in City Council Chambers located at 315 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Third Floor, City Hall, Tampa, Florida 33602, at which public hearings all parties in interest and citizens may appear and be heard as to any and all matters pertinent to the proposed City of Tampa Development Agreement for the Rocky Point Hotel.
The proposed City of Tampa Development Agreement for the Rocky Point Hotel would allow the development of up to 125,102 square feet of building with 180 hotel rooms on the 2.11 acre property. The maximum building heights within the property vary by tract, but shall not be great than 125 feet or such higher height as approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
A copy of the proposed City of Tampa Development Agreement for the Rocky Point Hotel may be inspected by the public in the office of the City Clerk, 315 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Third Floor, City Hall, Tampa, Florida 33602, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays.
Please note that if any person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Council with respect to any matter considered at the meeting or hearing, they will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, persons with disabilities needing special accommodation to participate in this meeting should contact the Office of the City Clerk at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to the date of the meeting.

An inspection of the property identified above on 4/14/2015 has established that violation(s) of City of Tampa Code section(s) 19-49, 19-56, and 19-233 exist on the property. Pursuant to Tampa City Code section 19-5(a)(7), the Director has ORDERED that the following action be taken by July 1, 2015:
Remove all junk, trash and debris from the entire property, including the rear of the property; Remove all inoperative vehicles. Remove all junk, trash and debris from the right of way. Secure the property in accordance with Section 19-233.
If the violations are not abated by July 1, 2015, the Director will authorize corrective action to enter onto the property to abate the violations and bill for the actual costs or funds expended by the City, which may include an administrative fee associated with the abatement of the violations. The bill shall be immediately due and payable upon receipt.
Failure to pay the bill for abatement upon receipt will result in a special assessment lien being recorded against the property. This special assessment lien will be superior to all other liens except prior liens for taxes. Upon recordation of the special lien will begin incurring simple interest at the rate of one-half (1⁄2) percent per month on the unpaid balance.
This order may be APPEALED to the City of Tampa Special Magistrate pursuant to Section 9-19 by July 1, 2015 by filing written notice with the Secretary at 315 East Kennedy Blvd., 3rd Floor, Old City Hall, Tampa, Florida 33602, (813) 274-7064 and serving a copy thereof on the Director at 2105 North Nebraska Ave., Tampa, Florida 33602, (813) 274-5545. Conveyance of your interest in the property while this Order is pending will not affect this Order. Any person acquiring an interest in the property takes it subject to this Order.
