Authorities Ask For Help In Identifying Burglar
Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office detectives are ask- ing for help in identifying a man seen in surveillance pho- tos.
On April 1st at 9:13 p.m., while the store was closing, de- tectives said a Black male en- tered Radio Shack, 11685 Boyette Road, in Riverview.
Detectives said the man told the people in the store to drop their phones on the floor. He also implied he had a weapon.
Detectives said the suspect locked two customers and an employee in the bathroom of the business, then demanded the sales clerk show him where the iPhones were located.
The employee showed the suspects where the iPhones were and he reportedly took 30-to-50 phones, valued be- tween $18,000 and $25,000.
This is a surveillance photo of a man stealing iPhones from a Riverview Radio Shack Store.
The suspect then fled out the back door of the business.
A dark colored Ford Fusion with tinted windows was seen in front of the store minutes before the suspect entered the store.
The suspect is described as a Black male, 20-to-25 years old with a slim build, 6 feet to 6’2” tall, and last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes and carrying a black, red, and white back- pack.
DONTAVION FREEMAN, SR.
On Monday, Dontavion Fleming, Sr., 31, took his four sons to the ATL Barbershop on 18th Avenue, South in St. Pe- tersburg.
While his sons were inside the barbershop, Fleming was out- side talking to a man in a car. His 11-year-old son, Don- tavion, Jr., reportedly said the conversation didn’t sound friendly and he heard his father say, “Don’t shoot me in front of my kids.” The four boys had come outside to see what was going on, and Fleming made them go back inside.
Looking through the window of the barbershop, Dontavion Jr., reportedly saw his father fall.
St. Petersburg Police reported that Freeman, Sr., 31, died later at a local hospital.
Officers reported getting a call at 7:44 p.m. reporting the shoot- ing.
Although police have not re- leased a motive for the shooting, Fleming’s family members said they believe it was over money. Investigators are still interview- ing potential witnesses, and no details about the shooting have been released at this time.
