President Obama Sinks 40 Foot Chip-In To Big Cheers
President Barack Obama tips his cap to a crowd of onlookers after hitting a long chip shot on the 18th hole.
President Appears With Seinfeld
Next week, you can watch President Barack Obama and Jerry Seinfeld driving in circles on the South Lawn in a baby blue Corvette.
The President will be appearing on the first episode of Season 7 of Jerry Seinfeld’s online series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” on Dec. 30. The show, which has fea- tured the likes of Larry David and Stephen Col- bert driving around cities with Seinfeld, had to be tweaked to deal with the President’s travel limita- tions.
Instead of zipping through the streets of Washington, President Obama and Seinfeld ease up the odometer of a baby blue 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe on the South Lawn before heading inside the White House for coffee.
Seinfeld gushed about the chance to hang with the President. “Growing up in the ’60s, my kid dream was
always to be an astronaut — doing a comedy show with President Obama in and around the White House felt like going into space,” he said in a statement about the episode, accord- ing to CBS News. “Being President and just a cool guy to hang out with at the same time made the experi- ence my own personal moonwalk. It was an unfor- gettable day.’’
U. S. Airstrike That Destroyed Hospital Should Be Tried As War Crime
President Barack Obama's golf moment impressive as he nailed a lengthy chip-in in front of the world's media. The President was enjoying a round at the Mid Pacific Country Club in Lanikai in Hawaii as he pushed his approach to the 18th hole off the green, but
confidently read the green and sized up the break before stroking his ball towards the hole. As it rolls closer you can sense his anticipation – and sure enough it drops in. The leader of the free world is left marvelling at his stroke as the crowd erupted.
Hospital in Afghanistan that was destroyed.
The Pentagon should in- vestigate an October U. S. airstrike on an Afghan hos- pital as a potential war crime, Human Rights Watch has urged Defense Secretary Ash Carter in a letter.
"We believe that there is a strong basis for determin- ing that criminal liability exists," Sarah Margon, the group's Washington di- rector, wrote to Carter late last week. She added that
any investigation should occur outside the U. S. mil- itary chain of command in Afghanistan to avoid undue influence and questions about its credibility.
The nighttime strike in the Afghan city of Kunduz on Oct. 3 targeted a hospi- tal staffed by the interna- tional aid group Doctors Without Borders. A U. S. Special Operations C-130 gunship warplane strafed the facility, killing at least
42 people and wounding dozens more—most of them doctors and patients.
Despite the fact that the hospital's coordinates had been registered with U. S. forces in the region, mili- tary leaders say the Ameri- cans believed they were attacking a nearby facility where Taliban fighters were reported to be sheltering. Multiple military investiga- tions into the incident are underway.
