Three Air Force Enlistees Complete Basic Training
Dr. Bobby Jones To Visit Tampa
Legendary, television show host, BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, will grace Tampa on Thursday, August 24th, 7 p. m., at the TPepin Hospitality Centre. Other performers include, Concept 7, of Ft. Laud- erdale, and Neo gospel artist REE. Also local comedian Justin Goldiee Gold- smith, and International gospel music industry publi- cist, Connie Birth, of Yes Lord Radio, will perform.
Three young adults with ties to the Tampa Bay Area recently completed basic mil- itary training as members of the U. S. Air Force. The Air- men participated in their re- spective graduation ceremonies at the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, in San Antonio, Texas.
Airman 1st Class Mar- cel A. Durand, Airman Nadeya Murray, and Air- man 1st Class Christopher J. Thomas completed an in- tensive, eight-week program that included training in mil- itary discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physi- cal fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Each of the Airmen earned four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Commu- nity College of the Air Force. Airman 1st Class Thomas also earned distinction as an Honor Graduate.
Airman 1st Class Du- rand is the son of Erika Y. Moreira, of Tampa. He graduated from Sickles High School, in 2017.
Airman Murray is the daughter of Kevin Murray, of Tampa, and Erica Fedrick, of Atlanta, GA. She graduated from Centennial High School, in Atlanta, GA, in 2016.

Thomas is the son of Michelle John, of West Palm Beach, and the husband of Katelyn Thomas. He graduated from William T. Dwyer High School, in Palm Beach Gardens, in 201. Air- man 1st Class Thomas continued his education at Trinity College of Florida and earned a Bachelor's Degree in 2015.

Bethune Alums Host Send Off For Local Attendees
The Hillsborough County Chapter of Bethune-Cookman University Alumni Association hosted a send-off for local students attending the school. The event was held at the Seminole Branch Library. Several of the graduates shared information about their experiences as students at the Historically Black University.

The freshmen are: Keswani Belle, Jayle Brown, and Deiderra Davis. Chairlady Raquel Hunter; twin sopho- mores who are studying Biology and Nursing, Kierea and Kierena Spann; Michelle Brumridge, Co-Chair; and returning nursing students, Jaisyn Graham and Darrion Norton.
Members of the alumni association who attended the send-off to give the students encouragement were: Raquel Hunter, Shonda Sanders, Andra Diggs, Brenda Clark, Michelle Brumridge, Deanna Isom, Betoria Watson, Julia Jackson, Delora Campbell, Meagan Jones-Denton, Ashley McKenzie, Jackie Grant, Molbert Scrivens, Birdie Underwood and Elaine Saffold.
