EDUARDO PEREZ
On Sunday, the search for a missing Brandon woman was called off when a body they be- lieve to be Apryl Foster was found in her car at the bottom of Mango Lake, not far from her home.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 3 p. m. Sunday after boaters said they had hit an obstruc- tion in the lake. Neighbors in the area checked their surveil- lance videos that covers the community boat ramp and saw footage of Foster’s car drive through the parking lot, down a boat ramp and into the water.
Authorities said although the body found inside the car hasn’t been positively identi- fied, they have no reason to not believe it isn’t Foster. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity and cause of death.

Of Missing Brandon Woman
Two Men Face Trafficking In Heroin Charges
Authorities reported that
Mersadie Wells-Shahan
said she doesn’t feel she would be alive if it weren’t for her dog.
Authorities said robbers pis- tol-whipped her boyfriend, and were holding a gun to her mother’s head. They were also tying her up when her dog, Legend, interrupted them Tuesday night at 11:15 p. m.
The home invaders shot Legend twice in the head be- fore fleeing the house, but not before Legend took a bite out of at least one of them.
Authorities said the dog will make a full recovery after a bullet exited near Legend’s ear and the other cut through his shoulder and came out near his hip.
Police said Shahan’s boyfriend had gone to get toi- let paper out of the trunk of the car when four or five hooded men attacked him from behind as he was walking back inside. The men report- edly dragged him into the house, and they struggled in- side the front hallway.
Shahan and her mother came to help and were at- tacked. The robbers forced her mother into a corner at gun- point and knocked Shahan to the ground and started kicking her before tying her up with duct tape. Shahan and her boyfriend were next to each other on the floor when Leg- end came to the rescue.
When deputies arrived, they set up a perimeter and began searching for the hooded home invaders. Two men matching descriptions of the robbers were found near Elli- cott Street and Falkenburg

Road. One of them was identi-
fied as Michael Rivera, 23, who was trying to hide some- thing on his left hand. Police said it appeared to be a fresh dog bite.
Rivera was taken into cus- tody and charged with aggra- vated battery with a deadly weapon, armed home invasion and felony animal cruelty.
On Tuesday night, the weather conditions stalled the search for the other suspects, but authorities did report find- ing a handgun, two loaded magazines and a roll of duct tape near where Rivera was arrested.
Shahan suffered minor head injuries during the at- tack, and her boyfriend has stitches on the back of his head and some bruises on his face.
Two Winter Haven men were taken into custody Tuesday on drug charges. The arrests came about after undercover detec- tives arranged a meeting with the men to purchase 5 ounces of heroin for $10,000.
When Spencer Charles Leonard, Jr., 26, and Jacob Wells Beacham, 25, arrived and consummated the deal, they were both taken into cus- tody, and were held without bond.
Police seized $10,000 in cash and a 2007 Dodge Ram truck registered to Beacham.
