Hymn Lovers Conference Coming To Tampa
Carlton Burgess, Founder, and Cheryl Young, Academic Dean, of the Hymn Lovers Confer- ence, announce that they are excited to present a planned time of refreshing, restoration, and fun for music ministry leaders.
“We invite you to Tampa on May 2-5, 2019, to the Hymn Lovers Con- ference Center, 1913 W. Sligh Ave.,” Burgess said.
Rev. Dr. Braxton D. Shelley, a native of Rocky Mount, NC, is the guest this year. Dr. Shelley is a minister, a musician, and a musicologist. He earned a B. A. Degree in Music and History from Duke Univer- sity, and a Master of Divin- ity and a Ph.D., in The History and Theory of Music from the University of Chicago.
Dr. Shelley is an Assis- tant Professor in the De- partment of Music and the Stanley A. Marks and William H. Marks Assistant Professor in the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard Univer- sity.

LifeLink Partners With Lions Eye To Host 5K Run – ‘Roar Through Ybor’
The LifeLink Legacy Fund and the Lions Eye Institute are calling all runners to join them on Friday evening, April 19, 2019 for the 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run. On-site registration begins at 6:30 p. m., and all the fun begins at 7 p. m.
Persons can register as an individual, as a team, or as a virtual runner. Time is running out, so register as soon as possible at runsignup.com/RoarThroughYbor.
The event will be held in the Centennial Park in Ybor City, 1800 E. 8th Ave., Tampa.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the LifeLink Legacy Fund and Lions Eye Institute for Transplant and Research.
The LifeLink Legacy Fund supports the efforts of LifeLink Foundation in organ and tissue donations and transplantation.
The Lions Eye Institute for Transplant and Research sets new standards for ocular endeavors that will improve visual outcomes and quality of life for those who are blind or visually impaired. According to information distributed by the organizations: one organ, eye and tissue donor has the potential to save 8 lives, restore the gift of sight to 2 individuals and impact the lives of
more than 70 others.
