   Workshop To Show ‘It’s More Than Music, It’s A Ministry’

“It’s More Than Music, It’s A Ministry” is the theme of an upcoming musical workshop and dramatiza- tion. The event will be pre- sented on Sept. 8th and 9th by the St. John Cathedral Mass Choir under the direction of Evangelist Janice Nunn- Nelson. The event will be held at St. John Cathedral, 3401 E. 25th Ave. Rev. Dwight Newkirk is the host pastor.
“The goal of the work- shop is to enhance your knowledge of music in the scriptures, history of Gospel Music and choir/church decorum,” states Evangel- ist Nunn-Nelson.
The workshop will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8th, 9 a.m.–2p.m.Thereisa$20 registration fee that includes lunch. The workshop clini- cians are: William Sanders (History of Gospel Music), Windell Rober- son (Music in the Scrip- tures), and Evang. Nunn-Nelson, who will cover Choir Decorum. Facil- itators will be Rev. Isaac Ruffin and Pastor Stephen A. Nunn, Sr.
Saturday evening, the

musical/dramatization will be held 6-8 p. m. with pre- sentations from The Gospel Legends, St. John Progres- sive Mass Choir, T. J. Reed Singers, Allen Temple AME Mass Choir, Iyana Davis of St. Peter Claver, and Tremayne Toombs- Campbell of Lake Wales.
The weekend will con- clude on Sunday morning, Sept. 9th, at 10 a. m. with a Family and Friends Worship Service. Liturgical dancer, Kandace Nunn-Johnson is expected to perform. The speaker of the hour will be Rev. Dr. Glenn Dames, Pastor, Allen Temple A. M. E. Church.
