Citizen Groups Demand Action From Mayor Castor On Housing
On Thursday, August 4, 2022, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor will present her 2023 budget to the Tampa City Council. Activist groups will be there to hold a demonstra- tion on the Tampa housing crisis.
The Coalition released a press release stating that they will meet in front of Tampa City Hall on August 4 at 8:45 a.m. to rally in support of the city implementing a housing state of emergency.
Coalition is made up of the following organizations: Dem- ocratic Progressive Caucus of Tampa Bay, League of United Latin American Citizens-

Florida, Florida Rising, Restorative Justice Coalition, Faith in Florida, The Blue- print, Party For Socialism and Liberation Tampa Bay, Florida For Change, and For Our Future FL.
The goal is to convince Mayor Castor to prioritize the development of affordable housing, rental, and move-in assistance.
"The City of Tampa is in a housing state of emergency," the coalition wrote. "In re- sponse, Tampa’s City Council had the foresight to put a dec- laration of a housing State of emergency on the November ballot."

Date For Latest Book
The former first lady Michelle Obama appeared on Good Morning America to let the viewers know that she will release “The Light We Carry: Overcoming in Certain Times” on November 15, 2022.
The book will be published globally by Penguin Random House.
According to Penguin Ran- dom House, the book is sched- uled to be published simultaneously in 14 different languages and 27 countries worldwide, with more languages and territories to be announced. This is the follow-up to her first book, the bestselling Becoming. The book was named a New York Times Notable Book of the
