Legacy Preparatory Academy Hosts Community Fair
Earlier this month, mem- bers of Legacy Preparatory Academy held its first enroll- ment fair. The event took place on Saturday, July 18, at the school’s new location, 302 East Linebaugh Avenue.
Parents, Board Members, teachers, former and new students came out to enjoy the festivities as well as enroll for the upcoming school year. Students enjoyed the bouncy houses and games provided
by Sunshine Inflatables and Games. DJ RedStryke pro- vided the music.
In addition to relocating to a larger facility, Legacy has also extended its enrollment to include 5th grade.
Dr. Mary Wynn stated that Legacy (formerly Mt. Pleasant Middle School) has grown and is expanding its educational offerings to in- clude: STEAM Curriculum (Science, Technology, Eng-
lish, Arts and Math), Charac- ter Development Program, Athletic Program, Arts In- fused, High Tech Environ- ment, Uniforms, and Bus Transportation.
She further said that the legacy of consistently work- ing with students to improve academic performance and increase learning gains on State standardized tests re- mains a central focus of the school.
Parents are encouraged to contact the school and learn how this charter school makes a difference.
Legacy is currently ac- cepting enrollment applica- tions for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades for the 2015-2016 school year.
