Autistic Man Questioned In Death Of Zephyrhills Woman
Homeowner Shoots, Kills Intruder

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office a 24- year-old man was shot and killed after he unlawfully en- tered a Lakeland home Friday morning. The incident oc- curred at 6:30 a. m. at a home on Chestnut Hills Drive.
Deputies said Chevez Antwann Faison entered the home and fired shots at two people inside. He was then shot and killed by the homeowner. No one else was injured.
The incident is still under in- vestigation and deputies are asking anyone with more infor- mation to call (863) 298-6200.
Police Arrest Man Who Tried To Rob Bank
Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies have found an autistic man who had been living with a woman who was found dead in her apartment in Zephyrhills Christmas night.
Tijauni Rhomane Stone,
26, was found at a business at 1814 Bruce B. Downs Boule- vard in Wesley Chapel last Wednesday afternoon, Decem- ber 27th.
Stone reportedly has down syndrome and autism. He also has the mental capacity of a 5- year-old child.
Stone had been last seen Christmas night at the apart- ment of Winnifred Francis Ellis, 60.
When Ms. Ellis didn’t show up to church and other activi- ties she frequented, the apart- ment complex staff went to check on her. They found her

dead in her apartment and Stone was gone.
Ms. Ellis was a caretaker for Stone, and some friends have said they were related.
Deputies said Stone has been cooperating with them in the investigation into the death of Ms. Ellis.
Tampa Police reported the arrest of a man who allegedly tried to rob SunTrust Bank Thursday.
Police said Danae Diaz, 50, entered SunTrust Bank, 4545 North Himes Avenue and passed a note to a bank em- ployee demanding $50,000.
Diaz reportedly fled the bank when he was denied any money.
Authorities said the demand note was written on a SunTrust deposit slip and was found crumpled up in the bank’s parking lot. Inside the note was a second note written on a PNC Bank deposit slip and a pay

on it.
Diaz was found at his
mother’s residence and was ar- rested.

Arrests Made In Celebratory Gunfire Incidents

Arron Jordon Woody, 26, was charged with obstruction, and Elijah Dreshaud John- son, 20, was charged with grand theft of a firearm, and improper exhibition of a firearm.
At 2 a.m., officers were sent out to a call at 640 29th Street, South on a report of a man shooting a rifle. When officers arrived they found numerous shell casings on the ground and a man sitting in a vehicle, and an AK-47 style rifle was seen in the back seat in plain view.
Officers made contact with the man and asked him about the weapon. He refused to pro- vide any information or talk about the weapon, police said.
The man was arrested and identified as Arron Ro- driguez, Hinson, 32. He was charged with obstruction and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On New Year’s Eve, St. Pe- tersburg Police arrested Bruce Sanders, 24, on a charge of second-degree murder for the December 6th shooting death of Aaron Davis. Davis was shot at the Fountain Court Apartments, 600 40th Street North. Davis was arrested at the apartment of his girlfriend.
Detectives said Davis was involved in a dispute with a rel- ative of Sanders that resulted in a physical alteration days prior to his shooting. Sanders was not present at that alterca- tion, but on December 6th, po- lice said tensions again escalated between Davis and Sanders’ relative.
Sanders, who had been con- tacted about the dispute, ar- rived at the apartment complex and approached Davis in the

Sanders fired several shots at Davis at close range then left the scene in a vehicle. He was identified by witnesses at the scene.
Davis was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Armed Carjacking
Three Injured In Shooting At Funeral Home
On Friday morning, St. Pe- tersburg Police reported two incidents that resulted in ar- rests related to celebratory gunfire.
In the first case, at 12:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a call at 2609 3rd Avenue, South about male subjects in the area with guns. As officers approached, shots were fired in the area and a search found four men in front of the 3rd Av- enue, South residence, two of them holding rifles.
When the officers ap- proached, the four males fled the area and all four were ap- prehended. One rifle, one car- bine and a handgun were recovered. Also, numerous shell casings were found on 3rd Avenue, South, indicating the suspects had been engaged in celebratory gunfire, police said. One of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen.

Tampa Police are currently investigating a shooting that took place at a wake on Friday. The shooting took place at an East Tampa funeral home.
According to police, around 7 p.m., last Friday, several people were visiting Harmon’s Fu- neral Home, 5002 N. 40th Street when shots rang out.
Three people received non- life-threatening injuries. They have been identified as Mar- quise J. Neal, 20, of Clearwa- ter; Henry Taylor, 20, 0f New Port Richey, and Mod- rian D. George, of Tampa.
Police further said that the shooting was not a random act and the shooter and victims were known to each other.
The investigation into the shooting is continuing, but no arrests have been made.
John Harmon, co-owner of Harmon’s Funeral Home said, “We were inside when we heard the shots, but we thought it was fireworks. Then people started coming inside saying someone was shooting out-

ately called 9-1-1 and police re- sponded quickly to the scene.”
At the time of the shooting, the funeral home was conduct- ing wakes for four individuals. One of those was the wake of Ms. Sha’Mhya Hydiah Turner, 19, who was killed in a car accident on December 13th.
According t0 the funeral no- tice, Marquise Neal was listed as her daughter’s father. An individual with the same name was also listed as a pas- senger in her vehicle when the traffic accident took place.

Winter Haven Police report that a 14-year-old teenager has been arrested for an armed car- jacking.
Police said Michael Taylor had been released from juve- nile custody on December 19, 2015 before his arrested on this incident.
Police said Taylor and an accomplice ran and got into a vehicle. A police pursuit was initiated that ended in a crash. Police said Taylor’s accom- plice was not in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Taylor was not injured in the crash and the car was stolen from another teenager, and police said she was not in- jured during the incident.
