Dad Accused Of Killing
Man, 45, Killed On Nebraska Ave.; 2 Others Injured, Victim’s Family Seeks Tips

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Tampa man for killing one child and critically injuring another. The shooting took place at a residence in the 13000 block of Heritage Club Drive, on August 29th, around 10 p.m.
Jermaine Bass, 30, has been charged with murder in the first-degree, premeditated firearm discharge multiple wounds causing death, at- tempted murder in the first- degree, premeditated firearm discharge, and aggravated child abuse firearm causing critical injuries.

Convicted Felon Gets
One man is reported dead and 2 others have been hos- pitalized following a shooting early Saturday morning. His family is asking for the com- munity to come forward with tips.
According to the Tampa Police Dept., the shooting oc- curred in the 1500 block of N. Nebraska Ave., around 1:30 a. m., near the Blue Note Bar. Upon arrival, offi- cers found one man in his 40s suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
According to Facebook posts, that person has been identified as Willie James Carraway, 45.
Two other men shot at the scene showed up at an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries and have been treated and re-
tigating this shooting. The victim’s family is also asking for tips from the public to help solve this crime.

According to sources, the gunmen were looking for someone else when the shots rang out in a crowd, killing Carraway, also known as “Big Country,” was killed and two others injured.

Crash In
A U. S. District judge sen- tenced a Tampa man to four years in federal prison. He is accused of posing on Insta- gram with a gun.
According to court docu- ments, Judge Virginia Hernandez sentenced De- vontae D. Hunter, 25, to four years and nine months in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
According to court docu- ments, Hunter brandished a Glock pistol with an extended magazine in a video “story” that he uploaded to his Insta- gram account on September 11, 2021.
Two days later, during a traffic stop, Hunter fled from law enforcement officers on foot and dropped the same Glock pistol he had displayed in the Instagram video. The pistol was configured with an

extended magazine and loaded with 20 rounds of am- munition. Hunter had previ- ously been convicted of several felony offenses, in- cluding possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, robbery, and aggravated bat- tery on a law enforcement of- ficer. As such, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition under federal law.
The Florida Highway Pa- trol reports that a 46-year-old Riverview man died Saturday evening around 6:30 P. M., when his cycle crashed.
The man lost control of his bike as he traveled along U. S. 41 near Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon. The bike entered the median and the driver was ejected.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
