 Theron James, Jr.
gave his initial sermon on Sunday, February 24th, dur- inga4p.m.serviceatNew Mt. Zion M. B. Church, where he and his family have
been longtime members.
Rev. Larry L. Roundtree, II, is the pastor.
James, who is affection- ately known as TJ, used as his topic title, “I’m Still In
God’s Plan,” 1 Timothy 1:1-
11.
The son on Mrs. An- nette Daniels James and the late Theron James, Sr., TJ was pleased that his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James (Eartha) Daniels, Sr., were able to attend the event. The service was sup-

    Friendship M. B. Church Has Black History Month Program
 Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Carver City held it Black History Month Program on February 10, 2019. The guest speakers for the 3 p. m. service were former State Senator Arthenia Joyner and retired educator/School Board Member Doretha Edgecomb. Several of the members were program par- ticipants.     Mr. and Mrs. Ricky (Jeanette) Roberts, Program Chairpersons, with the guest speakers, Senator (Atty.) Arthenia Joyner and Doretha Edgecomb.
    Some of the members from the choir are: Debra Favors, Denise White, Maxine Hearn, Viola Favors, Roncilla Mortimer and Joe Young. The pianist was Jerome Thomas.
