‘Madea’s Farewell Tour’ Stopped In Tampa
Tyler Perry took his character, Mabel “Madea” Simmons on a farewell tour to several cities across the country. The tour stopped in Tampa for 2-days at the Straz to sold-out audiences.
Additional “Madea” production happenings around the same time were: the release of “A Madea Family Funeral,” in the theatres, and a live show, “Madea Farewell Play Tour,” that will travel the country through May. (Photos by Julia Jackson)
Tyler Perry, as he introduced the cast, thanked Tampa for the support of the “Madea” productions.
One of the favorite characters of “Madea” is “Bam,” played by Cassie Davis.
The Mann Family: Tamela and David Anthony Mann, Sr. (Mr. Brown) appear in several of the “Madea” productions.
Tifini Gordan, Larraine Williams-Nunn and Gloria Drungo also enjoyed the production.
Tampa Bay entertainment pro- moter, Lawrence Hires was captured at the event.
Those who attended the event included: Bernetta Carter, Della Gaddie and Michele Way.
Beverly Jean Jacques, Angela Bridges, Kathe Cole, Helen King and Jacqueline Lang were also in attendance.
