Young Black Women Golfers Take To The Greens
St. Petersburg Native Vies For Second NBA Ring

As the NBA playoffs move on, the Golden State Warriors, led by Steph Curry, are vying for their second NBA Championship after winning it all last season.
For area viewers, a vital part of their rotation has been St. Pe- tersburg native Marreese Speights.
Speights was drafted in the first round in 2008 16th overall, by the Philadelphia 76ers. He also played with the Memphis Griz- zlies and Cleveland Cavaliers before joining the Warriors in 2013.
Speights attended Gibbs High School and Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, and Hargrave Military in Virginia be- fore attended the University of Florida, where he was a member of their national championship teams with Al Horford, Corey Brewer, and Joakim Noah.
Speights, 6’10” tall, is a center/power forward who comes off the bench for the Warriors and gives them valuable minutes of- fensively and defensively.
