Baby Einstein May Have Influenced Love Of Classical Music
34th Street Church Of God Hosts Celebration
BY GWEN HAYES Sentinel Editor
Son Selected To All-County Youth Orchestra
The music from Baby Einstein that Mrs. Tyesha La Fayette played for her children while they were in the womb may have influ- enced their interest in classi- cal music. The 3 sons that she and her husband, James La Fayette are par- ents to, have an interest in classical music.
Part of their interest may have come from their mother, who has been heav- ily involved in classical music for the past 3 years. “I wanted to play an instru- ment,” she says. Now she plays the Double Bass. She, however, is following in her father’s footsteps. O. B. Al- ston of St. Petersburg has played Bass and Lead Guitar since the age of 5.
Earlier this month, the couple’s son, Jeremiah La Fayette was selected to the All-County Youth Orchestra. He plays the Viola. Earlier this month (May 12th), Jere- miah, who turned 10 on May 11th, performed during the Fine Arts Festival at the David A. Straz Center in the
Morsoni Hall. Jeremiah’s parents credit his viola teacher, Hope Paolotto with the success he has with the instrument.
To insure that he’s well- rounded the La Fayettes say Jeremiah plays basket- ball, is an avid reader and “continues to excel in his ac- ademic pursuits. He is a 4th grader at Tampa Palm Ele- mentary School.
Jeremiah has 2 brothers – James, 12, who plays the Cello and Joshua, 8, who will be starting on the Dou- ble Bass later in the summer.
Jeremiah’s grandpar- ents are: O. B. Alston, Colia Clark and Rev. Dr. and Mrs. Bernard La Fayette, Jr.

His Deliverance
Lord, help my husband to be strong in You so that he will be delivered from his enemy. Enable him to put on the whole armor of God, so he can stand against the wiles of the devil in the evil day. Help him to gird his waist with truth and put on the breast- plate of righteousness, having shod his feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Enable him to take up the shield of faith, with which to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. I pray that he will take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful and sanding strong to the end (Ephesians 6:13-18)
Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. PSALM 91:14
His Obedience
Lord, You have said in Your Word that if we regard iniquity in our hearts, You will not hear (Psalm 66:18). I want You to hear my prayers, so I ask You to reveal where there is any disobedience in my life, especially with regard to my husband. Show me if I’m self- ish, unmoving, critical, angry, resentful, unforgiving, or bitter to- ward him. I confess it as sin and ask for Your forgiveness. I pray that You would also give (husband’s name) a desire to live in obe- dience to Your laws and Your ways. Reveal and uproot anything he willingly gives place to that is not of You. Help him to bring every thought and action under Your control.
My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you. Let not mercy and truth for- sake you; bind them around our neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. PROVERBS 3:1-3
