Battered Ex-Girlfriend Recovers As Police Continue Hunt For Personal Trainer
Two weeks ago, the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office is- sued a warrant for a Tampa man. He is accused of ambush- ing and attacking his former girlfriend.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, on December 7th, around 10 a.m., Ms. Maria Gomez, 24, ar- rived at work at the Cash Amer- ica Pawn, 1512 E. Fletcher Avenue.
After she exited her vehicle, Ms. Gomez told police she was punched and kicked several times, resulting in her suffering a broken right orbital bone, and a broken nose. Ms. Gomez was also diagnosed with having “a front brain bleed.”
At the time of the incident, Ms. Gomez identified her at- tacker as Rashidi Abdu Gib- son, 40, of Tampa. Ms. Gomez also told police that she has a restraining order for do- mestic violence against Gib- son, who is the father of her child.
Police said Gibson am- bushed Ms. Gomez while she was near her vehicle, intention- ally causing her great bodily harm.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office website, Gibson has been ar- rested several times. Earlier this year, on April 27th, the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office ar- rested and charged him with

Police said the investigation into the incident is continuing.

Gibson was arrested again by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office on September 21st and charged with violating a domestic violence injunction and battery, domestic violence.
He was held without bond. However, on September 25th, he was released from jail. Gibson is described as being 5’7” tall and weighing 170 pounds.
According to his Facebook page, Gibson is listed as the owner and founder of The Spot, 4225 N. Hubert Avenue. He also list his occupation as being a personal trainer.

On December 23rd, the QC Party Starters will host their 5th annual “100 Families For Christmas” event at Al Lopez Park on Himes Avenue from 12 noon to 5:30 p. m.
The group says their goal is to bless 100 needy families in the community with a good meal for Christmas, and bring everyone closer for the holi- days.
