Waiting In The Wings
Lord, I wait upon You this day. I put my hope in Your Word and ask that You would fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit and wash away all anxiety and doubt. I don’t want my impatience or lack of trust to stand in the way of all You desire to do in me. I realize that even when my life seems to be standing still, as long as I cling to You I am moving forward on the path you have for me.
The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. LAMENTATIONS 3:25-26
Lord, as I wait on You, help me to grow in my un- derstanding of Your ways and not succumb to impa- tience or discouragement because my timetable does not coincide with Yours. Shine Your light into any dark corner of my soul that needs to be exposed. Strengthen my faith to depend on Your perfect timing for my life. Help me to rest in You and be content with the step I’m on and he light You have given to me.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His Word I do hope. My soul waits for the LORD more than those who watch for the morning. PSALM 130:5- 6
Lord, I choose to wait on You instead of just waiting for things to happen. I refuse to run ahead of Your perfect will for my life. At the same time, I don’t’ want to lag behind it either because of steps I have neg- lected to take. Show me where I have not been diligent to do things You want me to do. I commit to trusting Your Word and delighting myself in You. I rest in You this day and wait patiently for You to bring to pass all that needs to happen in my life. Bless me with pa- tience in the process.
Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD! PSALM 27:14
