Gone, but will never be forgotten. I can’t say gone too soon, because I know it was God’s doing that called you home.
Although it hurts and my heart feels heavy, I can’t complain.
There is not a moment or a day that goes by that I don’t think of you. I know that you are in a much better place, until we all meet again.

MRS. SHIRLEY SULLIVAN NORMAN
Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Shirley Sullivan Norman of Tampa, who passed away on Sunday, No- vember 1, 2015, will be held on Saturday, November 7th, at 11 a. m. at Faith Life Church, 2702 E. Bearss Ave., Rev. Jane Hillman-McDon- nough, pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Ceme- tery.
Shirley was born August 4, 1939 in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Shirley was raised in New York City and gradu- ated from New Schools Fash- ion.
She enjoyed going to church and was a faithful member of Faith Life Church.
She was a dietician for many years before retiring. Shirley also committed her time as a volunteer with the Sarcoidosis Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late George Redmond, Sr. and Jannie Sullivan.
She leaves to cherish her memory with: her dedicated companion of 36 years, Fred
Wright; her loving and de- voted children, Michele N. Whittington, Daniel W. Nor- man, Jr. and Diab Numan; stepchildren, Terence Davis, Michael Hampton and Malik Norman; grandchildren, Teree Smith and fianceé, Lily, Derriell Janean Numan, Kanavis Whittington and Deniseshia Janae Numan; great grandchildren, Ilena Hall, Teree Smith, Jr., Carter Saddiq Numan and Iree Smith; brothers, George Red- mond, Robert Redmond and Al Redmond; brother-in-law, Charles Thomas Norman; sisters, Kirby Abdoulaye, Joellen Miller, Louise Glenn and Edith Redmond; sisters- in-law, Janie Lucille Nor- man, Ruthel Rader and Annie Pearl Norman; aunt, Daisy Chapman; a host of nieces and nephews includ- ing, Rhonda Jackson, Delvin Smith (Shawn), Elliott Nor- man (Diana), Nelson Smith, Gaynard Smith and Ashley Huggins; and a host of other cousins and other relatives; special friends through the years, Daniel Norman, Sr., (Sylvia), Earnestine Carlton, Barbara Jackson, Betty Bat- tle, Joe and Cecilia Cam- bridge, Don Wright, Tina Frasier, Yvonne Yeoman, Coach Wright, Ivette Wright and Yvonne Wright, Work- man family, Chapman fam- ily, Carolyn Burgess and Ralph Sullivan; and godchil- dren and Kachina Debbie, Nishant Saybien.
The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 6th, from 5- 8 p. m. The family will re- ceive friends from 5-6 p. m.
The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.

Homegoing celebration for Mr. Gary Fred Powe, also known as “Stretch”, “Coach” and “Pop” of Brandon, FL, departed this earthly life Tuesday, October 27, 2015. The service will be Saturday, November 7th, at 2 p. m. at The Rock Church of God by Faith, 4323 E. Henry Ave., Tampa, Elder James E. Williams, pastor, with Rev. Keith Boomer, Assoc. Pastor, of Small’s Chapel Christian Church, Arapahoe, NC, eulo- gist. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, on Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11 a. m.
Gary was born November 28, 1953 in Harlem, New York, and grew up in Queens, New York. He at- tended Springfield Garden High School, Springfield Garden, New York and also attended Kingsborough Community College, Brook- lyn, New York.
He served in the United States Air Force as a Morale Welfare Recreation Special- ist, and served in Operation Desert Storm (Gulf War). During his enlistment, he played basketball for the U.S.A.F. team. Gary was a fit- ness trainer for the military and the Miss Galaxy Compe- tition. He received an honor-
able discharge concluding his military service.
His hobbies were billiards, watching and coaching sports, motorcycles, along with attending car and mon- ster trucks shows.
Gary joined Springfield Garden United Methodist Church at an early age and accepted Christ as his Savior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Beatrice Powe; and siblings, Herbert Lewis and Gayle Chapman.
He leaves to cherish his memories with: his wife, Carolyn Powe; sons, Gary “Mario” and Sredrick “Sed” Powe; grandchild, Isaia Powe, Bloomingdale, FL; brother, Robert Faust, De- troit, MI; sister, Denise Chambers, Cheraw, SC; aunts, Ernestine Powe, Yvonne Powe, Cheraw, SC, and Judy Ford, Farell, PA; uncle, James “Boot” Powe, Cheraw, SC; mother-in-law, Alice Kinsey, Arapahoe, NC; brother-in-law, Rex Kinsey (Mary), Tucson, AZ; sisters- in-law, Sandra Chapman (Donnie), Angela Sawyer (Dennis), New Bern, NC, and Valarie Lewis, Queens, NY; aunts-in-law, Love Boomer, Arapahoe, NC, Verna Hen- derson (John), Apex, NC, and Ruth Sutton, New Bern, NC; uncles-in-law, William Sutton, Jr. (Odessa), Greens- boro, NC, and Caesar Sutton, New Haven, CT; special friend, Bradford Sutton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Although the pain is still there, I take comfort in know- ing my wife is with God.
