That Frank Ocean, he’s crafty. Reportedly the Odd Future singer fulfilled his recording contract with Def Jam with the release of his Endless video album—thus making Blonde an independ- ent release.
With that said, Blonde will be probably be no. 1 on the Billboard charts this week, sans a Def Jam logo.
According to Forbes, Blonde, which is an Apple Music exclu- sive, is independently released via Ocean’s Boys Don’t Cry label.
Universal Music Group, which owns Def Jam, has al- ready reacted. Its CEO Lu- cian Grainge announced it would no longer be providing exclusive releases to streaming services like Apple Music and TIDAL.

Unfortunately for Birdman and affiliates, this isn’t the only legal battle Cash Money is fighting. The label is wading through several lawsuits, in- cluding a $51 million suit brought forward by Wayne, who claims Birdman shorted him millions of dollars in roy- alty payments. He’s also seek- ing to untangle his Young Money label from Cash Money.

Black America’s most thriv- ing, prominent community built from the ground up post- Civil War came and went with the blink of an eye. In less than two days, the once lively area in Tulsa, Oklahoma that stretched for miles ran by Black business owners burned to the ground.
The 1921 Tulsa riots are known as the largest, bloodiest race riot in American history with more than 300 people murdered. The bloodshed caused by envious whites was hidden away from the history books.
A first-ever TV project about Black Wall Street is in the works.
Thanks to an ongoing col- laboration between WGN America and Get Lifted Film Co., a Black Wall Street project is in early development. The
production company fronted by John Legend is known for the critically acclaimed drama, Underground which is cur- rently in production for its sec- ond season.
Deadline first released the news on Monday, noting that the Black Wall Street project is slated to debut in 2018 if it is picked up as a series.
