Water On Wheels (WOW)
Meals on Wheels of Tampa (MOW) launched a new program in May called Water on Wheels (WOW), which was developed by the High School Leadership Board (HSLB) to encourage healthy hydration by provid- ing reusable water tumblers, water flavored packets and educational materials to all seniors and homebound.
On May 21st the commu- nity volunteers delivered WOW in addition to the Hurricane Preparedness Packs. The reusable tum- blers were purchased with funds raised by the HSLB’s Student Music Fest hosted by Tampa Prep School. The event was a success, more than 150 guests gathered on the lawn to enjoy musical performances by local stu- dents. The water flavored packets were donated by Brittany Magrini and her USF Communications Class.
New “pick up site” in Westshore District (West- shore/Airport District) to in- crease opportunities for businesses in that area.
The next POW (Produce on Wheels) delivery will be Saturday, June 18th. If you’re interested in becoming a vol- unteer or signing up call 813- 238-8410.
