Commissioner Gwen Myers’ Funded Agencies And Capital Projects
New Law Speeding Up Delivery
    Commissioner Gwen Myers has outlined the fund- ing of several programs from non-profit organizations, and other capital projects. The enti- ties listed below benefited from Hillsborough County’s Fiscal Year 2022/2023 Budget.
These non-profit organiza- tions will provide services to youth and adults who live in our county.
Commissioner Myers says that she gives thanks to her col- leagues on the county commis- sion for approving all of her recommended non-profit or- ganizations and capital projects and looks forward to these or- ganizations providing stellar services to the community.

To acknowledge October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Clerk Cindy Stuart was joined by State Senator Janet Cruz, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chro- nister, Hillsborough County Public Defender Julie Holt, Hillsborough County State At- torney Susan Lopez, Chief Judge Ronald Ficarrotta, and CEO of The Spring of Tampa Bay Mindy Murphy to raise public awareness about the new protective in- junction law that went into ef- fect on October 1st.
This new law, which received bi-partisan support, speeds up the domestic violence injunc- tion process so that a survivor has a swifter path to protec- tion.
This law accelerates the re- straining order process by using text messages to let a vic- tim know exactly when an order is signed by a judge and is able to be enforced. Speed- ing up this process may save lives. “For us and for victims,
