Fraud Investigation Lands 7 Tampa Residents In Jail
Pharmacist Convicted Of Murdering Wife Gets 30 Years
OLUFEMI ADEMOYE Sentenced to 30 years in prison
Last Friday, a Hillsborough Circuit judge sentenced a Tampa pharmacist to 30 years in prison. He was convicted of killing his wife in January of this year.
Prosecutors were seeking a life sentence for 57-year-old Olufemi Ademoye. A pre- sentencing investigation rec- ommendation was for 29 years. Ademoye was convicted of beating his wife, Juliet Oluwatoyin Ademoye, 53, to death with an aluminum baseball bat.
Ademoye was arrested on June 16, 2010, after he ran to a neighbor’s and said his wife

had suffered a heart attack and asked the neighbors to call po- lice.
However, when Hillsbor- ough County deputies arrived at 8615 Villa Largo Drive, they reportedly found Mrs. Ade- moye in a pool of her own blood. They arrested Ade- moye and charged him with second-degree murder after lo- cating the bat under a toy box.
Prosecutors said the attack came about after Ademoye discovered emails his wife had sent to another man in Nigeria.
Judge William Fuente took into account that Ade- moye did not have a criminal record.

Last week, state investiga- tors arrested 7 people with in- surance fraud. The investigation focused on an employee at a Tampa clinic.
According to a spokesper- son for the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Insurance Fraud, the inves- tigation was launched after their office received a com- plaint after companies re- ported overcharging. On Friday, the agency concluded the two-year investigation with the arrests.
Officials said their investi- gation involved the Healing Clinic in Tampa. “The Divi- sion’s investigation discovered that the clinic staff had filed several patient claims with multiple insurance carriers for prices that far exceeded actual treatment costs, and in some cases, for treatments that never took place,” the agency said in a press release.

Officials said Ms. Minette St. Fleur was an employee at the Healing Clinic. She is al- leged to have served as a re- cruiter, who paid patients to go along with the scheme to file the fraudulent claims. She was taken into custody and charged with insurance fraud and pa- tient brokering.
The patients who were ar- rested and charged were: Son- thonax Ferdinand, 57; Marie Jean Gilles Valcin, 42; Marie Celestin, 38; Josue Aguste, 42; Elisena Louissaint, 48; and 39-year- old Joseph D. Pierre.
