HART will miss its “Fab Five” – the nickname affec- tionately given to five of the agency’s most veteran em- ployees. Between them they represent more than 180 years of professional service at HART.
‘The Dynamic Trio’
Three of the seasoned employees who retired last month – Dan Mathis, Thomas Mouling, Jr. and Richard Wilson, Sr. – contributed more than 112 combined years of outstand- ing driving at HART.
The trio logged more
than five million miles on the streets of the Tampa Bay area, without causing a sin- gle accident. Through all kinds of weather and heavy traffic, they exhibited a pos- itive attitude, enjoyed their work, and made a real differ- ence in the lives of others.
Thomas Mouling, Jr. Thomas Mouling, Jr. was on the HART team for 40 dedicated years because he loves people and loves to drive. Hired on January 16, 1974, Operator Mouling is a member of the 2 Million Mile Club and has received

A member of the Million Mile Club, he was passionate about his tenure at HART and grateful for the opportu- nity to serve the public and provide for his family.
Also Retired: Albert Perry
Albert Perry was hired on November 14, 1979 as a bus operator, but has served HART in many positions throughout his 35 years on the team. He currently holds the position of Transit Su- pervisor. His has partici- pated in the Emergency Response Team, the HART Roadeao, and was Captain of the HART Dragon Boat race team. He also earned Em- ployee of the Quarter and HART Star award.
He looks forward to doing more of two of his fa- vorite activities, dragon boat racing and riding his motor- cycle.
Sandy Ammons Sandy Ammons has been with HART since Octo- ber 22, 1979, working in the Payroll Department.
Throughout her 35 years of service she rose to the posi- tion of Payroll Coordinator.
Now she is eagerly antic- ipating her retirement, which will definitely afford her a lot more time to spend on her healthy hobby of tak- ing long, long walks.
As HART Chief Executive Officer Katharine Eagan expressed, these dedicated employees have been an in- tegral and important part of the HART team.
“I always appreciated how much each of them was engaged on a daily basis,” she explained.
“We have a great combi- nation of experienced work- ers and Millennials here, but the “Fab Five” truly were spring chickens around here. They will all be missed.”
Friday, February 27, 2015 was their last day on the job, as they remembered the highlights and the challenges they experienced and remi- nisced with other employees and remembered the valued patrons they served for so many years.
