Project LINK To Host Symposium
On Monday, January 25th, Project LINK will be hosting a symposium as their Hillsbor- ough Community College Dr. King service day project.
Throughout the month of January, Project LINK will be working with two different middle schools that will be highlighted on the evening of the symposium.
Drama students from Or- ange Grove Middle School are preparing to perform 3 skits to demonstrate 3-of-the-30 Uni- versal Declaration of Human Rights; Legacy Prep Academy students are preparing artistic illustrations on canvas from their own interpretations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that will be dis- played in the lobby area of the Tampa Theater.
The program will be for 2 hours and the evening will con- vey drama skits and entertain- ment performances, 3 guest speakers and a key-note speaker.
Project LINK’s “The Dream of King for Human Rights” is a youth driven initiative de- signed to advocate and increase the awareness of human rights.
“The objective of the project is to empower students and the community, to enable them to make connections, and we be-

lieve this will contribute to the strengthening of respect for human rights and the funda- mental freedoms,” said Tina Young, Director of Project LINK.
“We expect 90% of the stu- dents participating in class- room sessions and activities to be able to evaluate various in- terpretations of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and continue to promote and advocate for human rights.
“We expect activities pre- sented at the symposium will encourage participants to be- come defenders for human rights and they will walk away with a challenge to become champions of peace and toler- ance, and become the key to building a future society that is resilient to the abuses of human rights in all its forms.”
Tampa Natives Taking Movie Soundtrack Production To The Next Level
BY LEON B. CREWS Sentinel Staff Writer
Tampa area natives Galen Graham and Sly Pyper have executed most of their career moves to get themselves into mainstream entertain- ment.
With the success the two men enjoyed being a part of the soundtrack to the “Straight Outta Campton” movie, they have found themselves in hot demand to do other movie soundtracks.
“Through our company, Bum Rush Music Publishing, we’re preparing to jump head first into the movie industry,” said Graham.
“We’ve already started doing movie sound- tracks and scores for upcoming movies.”
Graham said he and Pyper aren’t new at this. One of their first accomplishments in movie soundtracks was the “Fast and Furious 7” movie, recorded by Pyper, Eminem, and Royce.
“It’s helped us tremendously, receiving the music credits on the “Straight Outta Campton” movie,” said Graham.
“Our newest movie venture is “Penitentiary 4” written by Leon Isaac Kennedy, and star- ring the Game, Chris Brown, and 50 Cent.”
Graham said Bum Rush Music Publishing has big plans for 2016, and will be returning to Tampa to launch several future projects.
“Flying back-and-forth between California, Georgia and Tampa has taken its toll, but I wouldn’t have it any other way,” said Graham.
“This is the opportunity I’ve worked my entire

life for, and now it’s time to get busy and make it happen.
“Because we’re an affiliate of Aftermath, we have instant credibility in the market, and being associated with Dr. Dre is always a plus.”
Graham said there will be a series of four movies that will follow the success of “Straight Outta Compton”, and will reveal more about N.W.A., the acts they managed, Eric “Easy-E” Wright, and all of the members of N.W.A.
“We’re also going to be opening up a studio in Atlanta to produce and record our music tracks,” said Graham.
