 Health
Develop Healthy Habits
Don’t worry about which foods can help specifically, in- stead try to create healthy habits that you can sustain your entire life. For example, try to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Foods like beef, pork, and processed meats
should be avoided! Instead, lean towards fish, poultry, beans, and eggs when you’re trying to get protein.
Sugar-Free Coffee and Tea
When speaking of antioxi- dants people often speak of green tea, but this beverage also con- tains EGCG and epicatechin, which can potentially prevent healthy cells from mutating. Some healthcare professionals even suggest that seven cups of green tea a day may decrease the risk of prostate cancer. Coffee is also on the list of potentially pre- ventative prostate cancer efforts. Unlike green tea, just two cups a
day has heavy benefits. The most important thing to remember is to keep the sugar at a minimum.
Eat More Berries
When protecting your body from cancer and other diseases you will always hear about an- tioxidants.
Berries are a great source of antioxidants. Everything from strawberries, blackberries, blue- berries, and raspberries is great for cleansing the body and pre- venting cell damage. Aim for healthy fats like olive oil, nuts, and avocados instead of fats from dairy fast foods and packaged foods.
Overall, what’s going to pro- tect you is paying attention to what you’re doing when you’re eating. Avoid foods that are high
in salt and watch your portions.
More Exercise
Any time healthcare profes- sionals suggest changing your eating habits to prevent health problems, it will more than likely be partnered with exercise. Healthy eating habits and exer- cise go hand and hand whenever you’re trying to achieve any physical goal. In general, regular exercise can prevent you from developing some potentially deadly problems like heart dis- ease, stroke, and certain types of cancer.
Simply put, men who exer-
cise regularly are less likely to have any issues with their repro- ductive system. The exercise doesn’t have to be intense, even low to moderate physical activity will get the job done. As stated before, these changes don’t cure prostate cancer or 100% prevent it, but they can work to keep your body strong to fight off po- tential harm. If you feel like you have an enlarged prostate or like you potentially have prostate cancer please contact your pri- mary health physician immedi- ately. Also, do not wait until you have symptoms, get check-ups annually so you can stay in the know.
