Tom Brady And Bucs Lose Another Game Against Panthers, 21-3
Bucs Try To Regroup In
For the second week in a row, the Tampa Bay Bucca- neers suffered a shocking de- feat to a seemingly inferior opponent, falling 21-3 to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Here’s everything that went wrong for the Bucs, what went right, and what it means for Tampa Bay moving forward:
What Went Wrong
Where do we start?
On the third play of the game, Tom Brady launched a perfect deep ball to a wide- open Mike Evans, who was streaking across the field all by himself after his defender fell to the ground. Unfortu- nately, the ball also fell to the ground after it bounced on Evans’ hands, and with it went all of Tampa Bay’s en- ergy.
It was all downhill from there for the Bucs, who didn’t touch the scoreboard until a field goal in the fourth quar-

Short Week As Lamar

The short week that leads to a Thursday night game is a physical challenge for every player in the NFL. For the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head- ing into Week Eight, the more important test may be the mental one.
The Buccaneers suffered a surprising 21-3 defeat to the now 2-5 Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Charlotte, giving them four losses in the last five weeks and leaving the team searching for answers as to why the start to its 2022 season has been so deeply un- satisfying. They won't have much time to contemplate such issues, though, as the Baltimore Ravens will be vis- iting Raymond James Sta- dium on Thursday for a marquee prime-time matchup on Thursday night.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET.
Somehow, though, the Buccaneers have to find the mental strength to dig out of their unexpected tailspin.
The Bucs loss to the Pan- thers dropped them to 3-4 marking the only time since Tom Brady the team has been under .500 since a Week One loss to the Saints in 2020.
ter to avoid the added embar- rassment of a shutout. Brady and the offense couldn’t move the ball consistently, despite facing a Panthers defense that was missing Jeremy Chinn and Jaycee Horn.
The ground game was use- less (again), and the play-call- ing was boring and predictable (again).
Two days after trading away Christian McCaffrey,
the Panthers still racked up 171 yards rushing on the Bucs, averaging 6.4 yards per carry with the terrifying tandem of Chuba Hubbard and D’Onta Foreman. The Tampa Bay defense once again made a replacement- level quarterback look like a Pro Bowler, as PJ Walker looked far more comfortable than Brady did all game long.
