Hospitals Overwhelmed By Pediatric Patients With Respiratory Virus
‘America’s Got Talent’ Finalist Zuri Craig Dies At 44
Hospitals in 33 states are see- ing a dramatic rise in children suffering from the respiratory virus called respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Cases have more than doubled in 25 states, put- ting a strain on hospitals — with some facilities so overwhelmed, they're running out of beds.
At Connecticut Children's hos- pital, doctors said they're slammed with a surge in RSV cases. Dr. John Brancato told CBS News that every inch of the emergency room is filled, and the hospital is considering put- ting a tent on the front lawn to
handle the overflow.
RSV cases typically surge
from December to February, but this month, the children's hospi- tal has more RSV cases than any other respiratory illness, includ-
ing COVID-19.
RSV symptoms are similar to
a cold, but doctors said parents should watch for signs of respi- ratory stress, if their child's nos- trils are flaring while breathing, or if their skin is pulling towards their ribs.
Doctors are also expecting an active flu season. They're asking people to get their flu shots now — while it won't prevent you from getting the flu, it could make your symptoms mild enough where you wouldn't need to go to the emergency room.

KANYE WEST
Adidas’ decision to cut ties with West ends a weeks-long controversy in which the “All of the Lights” rapper, 45, has spewed anti-Semitic commen- tary.
“I can say anti-Semitic s–t and Adidas cannot drop me,” West said on the “Drink Champs” pod- cast earlier this month.

The bold declaration — which has proven to be untrue — fol- lowed West’s statement that he would go “death con 3” on Jewish people. West likely meant “def- con,” the military acronym that means to “increase in force readi- ness above normal readiness.”
