Early Voting Begins In City Council Runoff Election

Early Voting for the City of Tampa City Council Runoff Election will begin on Thurs- day, December 1st and con- clude on Sunday, December 4th. Only registered voters liv- ing within the boundaries of the City Council, District 7 can vote in this election. The Elec- tion will take place on Tues- day, December 6th.
Voters living in the desig- nated district will determine the winner in the runoff be- tween Dr. Jim Davison and Luis Viera. Although neither candidate won 50% of the bal- lots, they won the top two places in the election.
The winner will complete the remainder of the term of Lisa Montelione on the Tampa City Council. She re- signed from the board to run for a state office.
Individuals who reside in the District 7 can cast ballots at four locations during the Early Voting period. The locations will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Voters will be required to provide one or two forms of identification. Acceptable identification includes: a Florida Driver's License; Florida ID Card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles; U. S. Passport; Debit or Credit Card; Military ID; Student ID; Re- tirement Center ID; Neighbor- hood Association ID; or Public Assistance ID.
The Sentinel endorses Dr. Jim Davison in this spe- cial election.
Newly Elected Officials To Host Town Hall Meeting

Two newly elected state officials are planning a Town Hall Meeting later this month. State Senator Darryl Rouson and State Representative Sean Shaw are planning the meeting.
Slated for later this month at the Children’s Board of Hillsbor- ough County, the purpose of the meeting is to discuss community concerns and the upcoming legislative session.
Senator Rouson represents both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.
Rep. Shaw represents Hillsborough County.
