ifty-seven years ago, Rose and Toby’s relationship
ended when Rose slashed Toby nearly 30 times and he bled to death in the last of many times Rose abused Toby. Last week, multiple women all over this nation were beaten, killed in murder-suicides, or sought shelter at domestic violence havens.
Yes, men and women both suffer abuse at the hands of their “intimate partners” (a term that signifies the change in love relationships). Millions of men and women silently bear the physical and mental scars of abuse daily alone.
To commemorate this scourge, October is the month designated to increase awareness of domestic violence and breast cancer as well all over the world.
Unfortunately, as in breast cancer, IPV (Intimate Partner Violence) affects ethnic minorities dispropor- tionately. Studies show that nearly 30 percent of all women in the United States have experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate part- ner at some point in their lives.
However, ethnic minorities experience higher prevalence rates of 43.7 percent and a 46 percent among non-Hispanic Black and Native American/Alaska Native women, respectively. Indeed, immigrant women reported increased intimate part- ner abuse after moving to the United States.
There is no doubt a need for a domestic violence “#Me, Too” movement to show men and women that they are not alone; they should leave such relation- ships and seek shelter; and that there is life after leav- ing toxic and abusive relationships.
We encourage all abused persons to find their strength to get out NOW.
No More Lack! Overflow Only!
Declare It: I Don't Have Lack. I Only Operate In Overflow!
mpowered Greet-
ings. Many of you have been trying to run and oper- ate your business, ministry and organizations from a place of lack. A lack of money; a lack of people around you to help undergird your vision; a lack of staff or the right peo- ple in your organization to help you run efficiently and effectively; a lack of ability to implement the right systems and processes in in the right place or the right areas in your business or ministry, so that you have a smooth oper- ation, among other things.
If you're ready to end the cycle of lack in your life, I want you to open up your mouth and shout NO MORE LACK! OVERFLOW ONLY for me!
It is vital to your success that you shift from looking for what you want, to know- ing that you got everything you need. You have an over- flow of love, money, re- sources, people to help you, ideas products and services at your disposal. You'll have more than enough. You'll have so much that you can share some of what you got with others.
Here are 3 steps to help you shift from a mindset of lack to OVERFLOW ONLY:
1. Create an environ- ment of overflow. Put yourself in a place where you are surrounded by classy peo- ple, in classy places.
2. Think about over- flow. Create Abundant Affirmations. Write a list of
affirmations about the areas of your life, business or min- istry that you desire to expe- rience overflow.
3. Recognize the End- less Possibilities. Take time to relax, reflect and rec- ognize the abundance that you already have in your life. Acknowledge those areas of overflow and be thankful for them.
I have declared October to be the month of overflow. I will be empowering, educat- ing and elevating those in my circle of influence on social media with tips and strategies for overflow all month long.
