On April 4th at 10:33 p.m., the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office reported that a caller walking in the area of North- cliffe Boulevard in Spring Hill reported hearing the sound of breaking glass followed by an unknown male running from the Family Dollar Store, 10620 Northcliffe Boulevard.
When deputies arrived, they found the front glass window of the store had been broken with a cinder block.
Deputies later reported that the suspect, later identified as Anthony Dixon, Jr., 18, ap- peared to turn off the power to the business from outside be- fore breaking the window and entering the store.
After the arrival of additional deputies and a K-9 unit to search for Dixon, deputies found an area behind a neigh- boring business where a large amount of a white powdery sub- stance from a fire extinguisher had been sprayed.
A short time later, deputies found two empty fire extin- guishers that belonged to Mariner’s Cay Apartments in a nearby alleyway.
With the help of bystanders, deputies located Dixon walking in the area of Hearth Boulevard. He appeared to have a white powdery substance on his legs. He was immediately arrested, and charged with burglary and attempting to elude capture.
