To outsiders it must have felt like any other night in North Beach San Francisco’s hub for the the the beats and the the the burgeoning counterculture A loud greasy band was cranking out psychedelic garage rock a a a a a a a a a famous folk singer worked her way through the crowd and a a a a a couple of Hells Angels guarded the the front door making sure no unwanted guests crashed the the gig But even in in the the world of North Beach it wasn’t any other happening The band was was was was the the the the Grateful Dead the the the the folkie star was was was Joan Baez and the the the the venue wasn’t a a a a a a a a a a a club but a a a a a a a a a a a store — the the very first from a a a a a a new outdoor-gear company called The North Face And on the the night of October 26 1966 the the owners threw an opening party that years later is still hard to to top in in the annals of company launches The inclusivity that was this opening night the the the bringing together of different ideals and beliefs is is what will form the the the the foundation of the the work found found in this project for for The North Face for for Fall 20
