     Investment Requirement Notes
  1. The Franchise Package: see pages 10/11 of this document for full details of the Franchise Package. The costs shown represent a payment for the licence fee and the tangible items to be supplied to the Franchise Owner by the Franchisor prior to commencement of operations.
2. Home Office Furniture: it is anticipated that the business will initially run from home. This allowance has been made for the purchase of any office furniture required.
3. Laptop/Software/Printer/Scanner/Copier, Document Binder, Internet, Mobile Phone: a windows based laptop with Microsoft Office Software, a broadband connection and combined printer/scanner/copier will be required, as will a document binder and mobile phone.
4. Legal & Accounting Fees: provides for the legal costs in securing the Franchise. Accountancy costs are also included, allowing for assistance in preparing the business plan, advice on funding arrangements and initial guidance on setting up the book-keeping system to satisfy legal requirements.
5. Miscellaneous Items: covers any small items and services not provided for in the above.
6. Working Capital Provision: provides an estimate of further funds required to operate the business during its initial stages, including the Franchise Owner’s personal drawings if initially
required, and to cover any possible operating deficits as the business becomes established. However, this will need to be specifically determined in the Franchise Owner’s business plan cash flow forecast once the exact operating costs have been fully identified, and the rate at which clients commence using the service. The associated cash flow can then be brought forward once this has been confirmed.
7. Likely Total Investment: the estimated capital requirement for the business, excluding VAT.
PLEASE NOTE: VAT has been excluded from the Initial Estimate as this can be reclaimed with the first VAT Return to HM Revenue & Customs. (Franchise Owners will need to register for VAT as their turnover is expected to be above the VAT threshold).
